Dear Parents
Our Beachathon will be held on the last day of Term, Friday June 26.
This year will see a number of changes. The biggest change this year, is that Parents are
requested to drop off their children at Miami Surf Club rather than at school. (This is
currently done by most of our Gold Coast Schools) At the conclusion of the Beachathon,
parents will also be required to collect their children from Miami Surf Club and take them
home (approximately 1pm). The exception to this is for children who regularly use the bus services to and from
school, and/or attend OSHC.
The Beachathon will begin at Miami Surf Club (cnr Hythe St and Marine Parade) and continue north along the Beach.
All children will finish back at Miami Surf Club. (Parking is available along Marine Pde, and in side streets).
CHILDREN NEED TO BE DROPPED OFF AT MIAMI SURF CLUB BETWEEN 8:20 AND 8:50AM.
We have attached a copy of the program for the day. Parents are most welcome to join us for the walk along the
beach with their children. Fruit, chips and a drink will be provided to all children. Children only need to bring a hat
and water bottle, and wear sunscreen.
There are three Permission Forms on the bottom of this letter. Please fill in the ONE that relates to your child and
return it to your child’s class teacher by Friday 12 June. Each child requires a separate permission form.
