Once upon a time... ... there was a Princess, who dreamt of being charmed by a handsome Prince. She longed to be swept off her feet by Mr Right, to be whisked away to live happily ever after. From an early age she planned for the day that she would marry the prince. One day her dream came true. Mr Right came along - looked lovingly into her eyes and asked her to become his wife. And she said yes! Of course. As the Princess was a Princess, every detail had to be perfect. The venue had to be beautiful and charming with tall ceilings, ornate fireplaces and a grand staircase, that combined traditional elegance with a modern twist. After a tour of its classic rooms and mature garden with its ancient trees, the St. Andrews Town Hotel was chosen. The Georgian town house was ideal, a hidden gem. Situated just a short walk from historic Droitwich Spa and central to the Midlands, the hotel was perfectly located for the visiting family members. The date was set in the not too distant future and the planning proceeded with gusto. The St Andrews wedding co-ordinator and the team were all very excited to be involved in organising such an important day and sprang into action providing the Princess and the Queen with lots of useful information and advice. The big day arrived and the Bride, Bridesmaids and her family arrived to prepare themselves in the comfort of the hotel. There was an air of excitement as hair stylists and make-up artists arrived to help the bride look her best. The happy couple decided to take full advantage of the hotel’s civil wedding licence, opting to perform the wedding in the hotel’s function room rather than one of the many beautiful churches in the region. The bride groom and his merry band of men arrived in good time to greet the guests, having been patiently waiting at a local ale house. * It wasn’t too long before there was a constant stream of friends and family arriving from all over the Kingdom, parking under the huge Cedar tree in the front garden. Taking their seats the excited guests waited with baited breath for the arrival of the bride and her party. Who obviously kept them waiting. And waiting... Until she finally made her big entrance. Our Princess, the bride to be in all her splendor, looked radiant as she floated down the grand staircase, into the hall and past the waiting crowd to the front of the congregation. The civil ceremony was perfect, the vows were exchanged and the happy couple were wed. There was not a dry eye in the room. Mr and Mrs Right... ...and the wedding party retired to the large mature garden to take in the sunshine and for the all important photographs. While the happy couple took a moment to compose themselves the guests enjoyed a seasonal drink on the terrace and Bar, before the wedding breakfast. The carefully chosen fine Champagne, the music of the String Quartet and the view of the lawns through the French windows offered a relaxing accompaniment. The dining room was the chosen venue for the wedding breakfast with its tall ceilings and ornate frieze. The guests marvelled at its beauty and the beauty of Mrs Right of course! The wedding breakfast was a magnificent feast, enjoyed by all. The Bride and Groom had been given the choice of a range of sumptuous menus, and the Princess, a connoisseur of fine food, had opted for the 4 course meal option of locally sourced produce tailored to suit the taste buds of even the most discerning guest. t he ba r Following the meal and the heartfelt speeches, the wedding party returned to the function room, which had been transformed for the evening’s entertainment and the all important first dance. A buffet was served in the evening when the extra guests arrived and the newly weds danced the night away, before slipping away to the luxury of the beautiful honeymoon suite with its huge bed and roll top bath – a room fit for a Prince and Princess. Many of the guests continued to party before retiring to one of the hotel’s splendid bedrooms.
