Plan a familyfriendly club event
around
Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax
Thank you for your interest in planning a club event around the premier of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Here are some
simple guidelines for planning your event. If you need more information, please email
[email protected].
Planning Guidelines:
1. Check local listings for where Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is playing near you. The film will be shown in 2- and 3D. We hope to have listing information from Universal Studios to share with you during the last week of
February.
2. Choose a screening time and call the theater to see if you can reserve a block of tickets. Ask how many
you can reserve, whether the theater offers a group discount, and the date that you need to give back
any unsold tickets. Don’t forget to find out about parking nearby.
3. Register your event with Alumni Continuing Education by emailing [email protected]. We
will send you a Dartmouth pennant.
4. Allocate tasks to club volunteers such as theater contact, financial officer, communications officer, and
registration officer.
5. Reserve the tickets. Develop an e-vite or use Harris to invite and have people register. Post information
on your club Web site.
6. Email your constituents with information about the event: venue, date, time, cost, parking, and
registration information. Include the link to register.
7. Write a confirmation email to send to those who register. Be sure to include details about start time,
parking, and venue location. Include the link to Professor Pease’s video. Encourage registrants to wear
Dartmouth green or to dress up in Seuss-themed costumes.
8. Depending on registrations, send a second email.
9. Confirm numbers with the theater when necessary.
10. Take a photo of your group at the theater with the Dartmouth pennant and email it to
[email protected]. We’ll post photos to our Flickr site so you can see how clubs around the
country celebrated Dr. Seuss.
11. Have fun!
Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax
From the creators of Despicable Me and the imagination of Dr. Seuss comes the 3D-CG feature Dr. Seuss’ The
Lorax, an adaptation of the classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope. The
animated adventure follows the journey of a 12-year-old as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to
win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet
charming creature who fights to protect his world.
Danny DeVito lends his vocal talents to the iconic title character of the Lorax, while Ed Helms voices the
enigmatic Once-ler. Also bringing their talents to the film are global superstars Zac Efron as Ted, the idealistic
youth who searches for the Lorax, and Taylor Swift as Audrey, the girl of Ted’s dreams. Rob Riggle plays financial
king O’Hare, and beloved actress Betty White portrays Ted’s wise Grammy Norma.
Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is the third feature created by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment
(Despicable Me, Hop). www.theloraxmovie.com
