DO NOT GIVE UP Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9 (AMP) 9 Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in. Due Season – Due – carries the idea/meaning – “its own” Season – carries the idea/meaning – “a set time or season” Therefore each seed we sow (financially, or time/gifts) has its own set season, or a specific, individual time, when it will produce a harvest. Even if seeds of all kinds are planted at the same time EACH seed has its own time. BUT THE KEY IS not to give up or not to and pluck it up before it has had a time to grown. We shall reap – Greek tense describes a future, fixed event. Meaning it is something that is guaranteed to happen, IF we will do our part and stay on the course. If – this tiny 2 letter word tells us that OUR actions have the power to disrupt a harvest Faint – carries the idea/meaning – to loosen. This word carries the picture of a person who has become so weary that they give up, forfeit, what they had long awaited AND may have very well be close to reaping. Pressure applied has caused them to loosen their grip on a promise and so hope is lost, and the end result is loss. Hebrews 10:33-39 (NLT) 33 Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. 34 You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever. 35 So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! 36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. 37 “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. 38 And my righteous ones will live by faith.[a] But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.”[b] 39 But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved. Malachi 3:10 (HCSB) 10 Bring the full tenth into the storehouse so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this way,” says the LORD of Hosts. “See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure. This is the only situation given in the Bible in which God tells His people to “test” Him. The Hebrew word used for “test” in this verse is bachan, which means “to examine, scrutinize, or prove (as in gold, persons, or the heart).” Just as gold is “tested” with fire to prove its quality, God invites Israel (AND US) to test Him in tithes and offerings and see that He proves His faithfulness in response. We don’t test Him to prove that He is good. BUT He does tell us to prove Him, to examine Him, even to scrutinize Him o AND GUESS WHAT HE WILL BE PROVED TO BE PURE, FAITHFUL, GOOD, HOLY, TRUSTWORTHY…. So why don’t people tithe? Don’t have a right understanding of The Word Have been “hurt” in the past by incorrect, false, teachings on it Lack of trust in God Gave up – did at one time but never saw the promise Lack of commitment Learn to deny your flesh, and tell yourself I can and I will trust God. He has never failed to keep a promise and He never will fail!
