Project objectives – preservation and amplification of
yaks of Pamirian ecotype and their expansion by
pedigree sale to other farms of the country as an
income generating sector of agriculture.
Yaks are reared with the purpose of getting meat, milk
and wool. Average live weight of adult yaks, which are
grown up under natural conditions of pasture forage is
450-560 kg. Adult yaks give to 2-3 kg of wool and
content of fuzz makes 57-61%.Almost 80% of gross
revenue from livestock sector is basically received from
the yak-breeding branch during last years in GornoBadahshan Autonomous Region. At the present time
the yaks-stock makes 16, 2 thousand heads
