General description and functioning of the system clino phon 99
With clino phon 99 Ackermann clino
provides a call system with speech
support. clino phon 99, the extended
proven call system clino opt 99,
enables the staff to make contact
with the patient without being
physically with them.
Personal speech contact can thus
be made quickly at any time; waiting
times are reduced to a minimum.
The nursing staff can receive the
patient's request and - without first
visiting the patient - deal with it immediately. That creates time for a
personal word. The area of application for clino phon 99 stretches from
senior residences and nursing
homes to rehabilitation centres to
hospitals and clinics. The opportunity for voice communication enables
their care organisation to be considerably more efficient.
The infrastructure of clino phon 99
builds on the bus structures of the
system clino opt 99. The zone
controller serves as a control unit for
the zone databus. Within a ward the
room terminals, or electronic modules if any, serve as the control units
for the room. For the special requirements of the care services in the
duty room, the master station is
available, via which general announcements or organisational functions
such as call forwarding to neighbouring wards can be realised.
The configuration of the system is carried out easily from a central PC or,
in small systems, by means of the proven configuration module. clino phon
99 has a multiplicity of system interfaces. Apart from the classic connection of paging systems, DECT systems can also be connected to clino
phon 99. According to the system design and installed clino phon 99
equipment the staff is able to use cordless DECT phones for answering
patient calls.
Modern interface to standard commercial TV's - the TV control
module
The TV control module serves as a communication interface between the
bed units and a TV in patient and residents' rooms. A multiplicity of standard commercial TV's, which can process the RC5 protocol, as well as
hospital TV's with RSIG interface and special TV protocols, are already
supported by the TV control module - manufacturer and types of television
on request.
The TV control module is driven by the higher-ranking equipment (bed
module / wall electronics) and converts the received commands into the IR
protocol of the TV equipment. Connection to the TV equipment is made by
means of a special cable. In addition to a SCART plug, the connection
cable contains a miniature IR transmitter, which is easy to attach to the TV
equipment and almost invisibly takes over control of the equipment - thus
protecting the aesthetics in all applications. The pick-up of the TV tone is
made via the standardised Euro AV SCART socket of the TV equipment to
be controlled, whereby the necessary electrical isolation and the adjustment in the level of the acoustic signal take place in the TV control
module. The TV tone is forwarded to the higher-ranking equipment (e.g.
bed module) and can be adapted by the user according to requirements
by means of the patient handset.
The coding of the TV control module is adapted locally to the respective
call system and the TV equipment to be controlled - complex programming
is not necessary. The TV control module is compatible with the bed
modules / electronics of the systems clino phon 99 and clino com 21 and
can also be operated with the wall electronics of the systems clino opt 99
and clino phon 95. Thus downwards compatibility to older system installations is guaranteed.
