Dear Cannabis Law Reformer,
On December 5, 1933, the Twenty-first Amendment to the United States Constitution
was ratified, repealing the Eighteenth Amendment and bringing the federal prohibition
of alcohol to an end. This Repeal Day, you can join Show-Me Cannabis in celebrating
the fall of one prohibition and help put an end to another.
The event will take place at the Mad Art Gallery in Saint Louis, which was originally
built as a jail in the 1930’s. At the time of its construction, people were put into those
cells for consuming alcohol. We have the good fortune to be able to look back on that
foolish policy and learn an important lesson from it: Prohibition does not work!
Missourians seem to be learning that lesson again where cannabis is concerned,
and our laws are ripe for reform. However, nothing will change without the resources
necessary to wage a political campaign in both the state legislature and the court of
public opinion via the initiative petition.
And this event will mark the beginning of that campaign – and the beginning of the
end for cannabis prohibition in Missouri. This represents a tremendous opportunity
for us to start this campaign off on strong footing by bringing together 200 or more
supporters, who will collectively provide upwards of $10,000 in financial backing for
our efforts.
This event also provides your business with an opportunity to generate good publicity
among socially conscious consumers and to be part of a historic campaign from the
