Allen Taylor, born 17 Jan 1815, near Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky. His parents
were William Taylor (1787-1839) and Elizabeth Patrick (1793-1880) He married
(1) 5 Sept 1833, Sarah Lovisa Allred, at Monroe County, Missouri. He married (2)
1 Jan 1850, Hannah Egbert, at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. He married (3) 26
Nov 1856, Elizabeth Smith, at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. He married (4) 27
Mar 1857, Phoebe Ann Roberts, at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.
Allen came to Utah 15 Oct 1849, with the Mormon Pioneers. He was the captain
of his, the Allen Taylor Company. He moved to Kaysville, Davis, Utah in 1850. He
was chosen L.D.S. bishop there in 1854. He moved to St. George, Washington,
Utah in 1862 and from there to Loa, Wayne, Utah in 1883. He died at Loa 5 Dec
1891. Allen was buried at the Loa Cemetery, Wayne, Utah.
Sarah Lovisa Allred was born 14 Nov 1817, Nashville, Bedford, Tennessee. She
was the daughter of Isaac Allred and Mary Calvert. She was also the mother of
11 children. Sarah died 11 Mar 1879 at New Harmony, Washington, Utah. She
was buried at New Harmony.
Hannah Egbert was the mother of six children
Elizabeth Smith was the mother to one daughter
Phoebe Ann Roberts was born 22 January 1842 In Nauvoo, Hancock County,
Illinois
She Married Allen Taylor on 27 Mar 1857 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was 15
years old. There were Twelve children from that union.
Their daughter Mary Ann Taylor (1862-1942) was the second child in that union.
She married Joseph Ridley Cook on 30 Jan 1879 in St. George, Utah at the age
of Seventeen. That union produced fifteen children, of those 15 Three died the
year of their birth and Three others died in 1891 of diptheria.
Phoebe Ann Roberts died on 21 September, 1919 at the age of 77 In Loa,
Wayne County, Utah. The same place where Shelby Cook (her great grand-son)
was born in 1914.
Allen Taylor left a legacy of 29 Children and numerous grand and great etc
grandchildren.
