Changes to Appearance of Driving Directions and CMA Map

Changes to Appearance of Driving Directions and CMA Map
Effective November 16, there is a new look and feel to Driving Directions in connectMLS and to the maps
displayed by the Driving Directions and CMA modules. This has come about because Microsoft has
upgraded the underlying module used by connectMLS for these functions. The driving directions should
provide more current and user-friendly instructions. In addition, there are a few visible changes to the
pins that are used to plot properties on the maps in these areas.
Summary of changes:
1) You can now alter the zoom level of the map and switch to Aerial or Birds Eye views, if desired.
2) When you start or end a route that is not one of the properties in the list of stops on the route,
the pin will be orange. When you start and end at the same location and neither is a listing, the
route will appear with both numbers on the pin, separated by a “|”
3) The map at the top of your driving route (and CMA map) which shows all properties in question
will show the property points using the “Status Specific Color” pins. In other words,
Green=Active, Blue=Pending, Sold=Black, Red =Other Off Market
4) The flags for the start and end points of each section of the route are now a green “pointer”
showing the letters “A” and “B,” respectively.
HINT: This is a good time to remind you that when printing the colored Pins on connectMLS maps, make
sure “Print Background Color and Images” is turned on for your browser. This can be found under your
browser’s “File” menu under the “Page Setup…” option.
5) When you save a driving directions map as PDF using the connectMLS “Download as PDF”
function, the old style “red” pins are used. (This is a limitation of the technology used by the
maps combined with the PDF utility used by connectMLS).
