During my junior year of college, I was required to conduct an informational interview with a
professional whom I believed to have my “dream job” – and so I did. Over the next two
years I continued to periodically stay in touch with this individual via email in hopes of further
developing a professional relationship that could potentially lead to my BIG break.
Finally, one day I received a random phone call from my pen-pal mentor asking me if I was
interested in joining an association called, MPI and if I would be willing to join the
Communications Committee. My answer was of coarse YES! I had never even heard of MPI
before and therefor I had no clue what this association was all about, not to mention what
doors it would open for me.
Fast forward 4 years and I am now serving my second term as the Orlando Chapter’s
Director of Marketing and have made waves in developing my career path all because of
my engagement on the chapter level. My membership has given me the opportunity to
gain mentors, employment, long term business relationships and professional development
that I would have otherwise not had.
I can attest, first hand, to the ROI that MPI has provided me in terms of opportunity for face
to face interactions, education and industry resources. I truly value this organization and I
believe in the power of “Stronger Together”.
