1. Welcome and Apologies
Maud Wylie opened the meeting by welcoming members.
Apologies were listed above.
2. Minutes of Previous Meeting /Action List
The minutes were agreed and approved with a couple of amendments.
Action list:
The group stated that they had not yet received a walkabout calendar
with the exception of Maureen Jarvis, Jim Napier and Brian Cant.
GB to send a copy of the calendar out to these members.
With regards proposed project 639 Alex Paton asked for the figures of
the devolved Roads and Footways Budget for the SW Neighbourhood
Area. He also asked if this yearly budget can be rolled over.
GB to supply these figures at the next meeting.
There were no matters arising.
3. Report on 2011/12 NEPs Projects – Andy Wallace
AW gave a presentation on the Neighbourhood Environment Projects
approved during the financial year 2011/12. This presentation was

illustrated by before and after photos of the various projects.
4. Update on 2012/13 NEPs Projects – Andy Wallace
AW briefed the group on the progress of the Neighbourhood
Environment Projects for this financial year.
EA asked if there were timescales for the lighting to be installed at the
car park in Oxgangs.
AW replied that there are no timescales for this work currently, however,
he will be pushing to have it done before the winter.
MJ asked if there were dates for the yellow lines to be installed.
AW replied not at this time. The Traffic Regulation Order required is still
in progress.
AW informed the group that if they have any proposed projects for the
coming year to summit them to him and he will include them in the
project bank.
5. Community Feedback – Local Group Reports
The Chair asked all present for any updates they wished minuted.
AD informed the group that she has given AW two proposed projects for
the project bank on behalf of Drumdryden Neighbourhood Council.
MJ asked when the weed spraying was being carried out in Oxgangs.
AW replied that Taskforce have started this work in the Neighbourhood
but he didn’t have timescales for them reaching Oxgangs currently.
MJ asked if there would be a repeat of the Spring Cleans which were
carried out in Oxgangs last year. During which a skip was made
available to local residents free of charge to prevent fly tipping.
GB to ask Val McCann if this will be carried out this year again.
NT informed the group that there is a new consultation just being
launched on the new Community Empowerment and Renewal Bill.
AD reminded the group that the Wester Hailes Fun Run has been
relaunched and will be taking place on Saturday 16th of June.
7. Date of Next Meeting:
This date is to be confirmed once the draft schedule of meeting for
2012/13 has been finalised with the elected members.
