Position Summary: ​
This is a part-time position teaching preschool and kindergarten movement
and mindfulness classes. We have designed a successful hybrid program that combines both
movement and mindfulness to help our youngest students develop an understanding of how to be
in command of their bodies and emotions. The movement piece emphasizes how students move
through space and time. Students learn how to perform developmentally appropriate motor skills
and movement patterns to perform a variety of physical activities. We also focus on developing
strategies for self-regulation and emotional awareness using the senses. Students learn various
breathing and calming techniques to help them navigate a busy social learning environment. This
teacher is in charge of developing curriculum, planning lessons, communicating with colleagues and
parents, ordering equipment, and managing his/her budget.

Responsibilities:
● Teach movement and mindfulness to 4-6 year olds
● Offer a cohesive curriculum that allows students to develop their skills
● Collaboratively design and document curriculum
● Promote mindfulness and wellness within the community
Years of experience:
3-5 years of teaching in the early childhood grades is preferred. Spanish speaker is desired, but not
required.
Educational background:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education.
