Welcome to the Harman Center’s
2017 Trips & Tours Guide
Hello fellow travelers,
It is hard to believe that we are here looking at trips for 2017!
We had a fantastic year of travel in 2016, seeing places like Costa Rica, Cape Cod,
New Zealand, Bickleton… It truly was a year of grand destinations.
This year however, will be better yet. We have single day trips for those who want
something shorter, we have some 2-3 day trips for those who are interested in a
little get-away and then we have the 5-9 day trips for the adventurists who want the
big travel experience! Needless to say, we have a little something for everyone!
.
Ron and I would like to personally thank everyone of you for helping make this program a huge success and we especially want to thank our “Hosts with the Mosts”,
June Everly, Marla Raptcheff, Penny Landvoy, Marlene Copass and Roxie Carter,
these ladies help make our trips safe and fun for everyone!
This year we will be continuing with the Trip registration program. I am so happy
this has worked as well as it has. Great job to everyone!
In this book you will find a registration form, this will help so that you can take your
time, go through the book and fill in the trips that you want. After you have made
your choice(s), total the amount you will be paying for each trip, whether it be just
a deposit or the full amount, If you are mailing your registration in, enclose your
payment with either a check or your credit card information, do not send cash.
There are 4 ways to register for your trips;
1. You can mail it in, Your receipts /itineraries will be mailed back to you
2. Drop your completed registration by the Harman Center
3. Make an appointment and we can go over your registration together.
Appointments will start January 3nd, 2017
Monday through Fridays from 9:30am - 3:30pm.
4. By Phone – you can call and leave a message anytime.
All messages will be returned in the order they were received
and within 48 hours.
To schedule an appt... Please call the front desk at 575-6166 or my desk at 5766405 and leave a message.
Thank you for all of your support.

date to see if any seats are still available.
ALL Payments are due 30 days prior to the date of the trip, (except when noted otherwise).
NO EXCEPTIONS.

deadline date. If you find you cannot make a trip after the deadline, you may donate your trip to
someone else or sell it to another. Please contact Lori Schatz and she will assist you with this.
If the Harman Center has to cancel a trip, a full refund will be issued. Please remember it takes 15
to 30 days for a refund to be fully generated.
RULES AND REGULATIONS: For all Trips and Tours a completed Registration Form, a deposit
or full payment is required before your name can be placed on the seating chart. Registrations
forms are available in the back of this book or at the Harman Center front desk.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: As interesting destinations come up during the year, we may
plan additional tours. The best way to stay informed on all of our trips and tours is to subscribe to
the Harman Center Quarterly Newsletter. The Newsletter is only $12.00 for the year and is always
full of valuable information. You may use your Visa or MasterCard to purchase your subscription
or make a check payable to the City of Yakima. Call 575-6166 for more information.
If you are interested in a trip that is not being offered, please contact Lori and she can meet &
assist you with your plans or find you a package that will fit your needs, example; group, church,

GENERAL INFORMATION
Quarterly Newsletter
Harman Center publishes a newsletter quarterly detailing upcoming activities. The newsletter includes trips,
classes, activities, meetings, clubs, meals, health services and social services. Contact the Harman Center for
subscription information. Subscriptions are currently $12.00 per year.
Cancellation Policy
The Harman Center reserves the right to cancel any tour which does not fill. In that event, a full refund will be
sent to each participant. We also understand that it might become necessary for a participant to cancel their tour.
Complete cancellation/refund policies, including dates, are printed on each trip itinerary. Refunds take between
15 and 30 days to process.
Parking
The Harman Center is not responsible for cars that are left at the Harman Center parking lot while attending one
of the Trips & Tours. The Harman Center would encourage you to find a ride to the Center for overnight or
extended trips.
Tour Hosts
Volunteer hosts accompany most Harman Center tours. The hosts ensure that the tour runs as close to schedule as
possible, that you are as comfortable as possible and they will handle any problems that might come up during the
tour. Hosts are not personal care providers, they are overseeing the trip only.
Tipping
You are responsible for tipping at restaurants when eating “on your own” meals. When meals are included, the tips
are also included.
Registration
To register for tours call 576-6405 or you can mail or drop off your payment with your registration form to
Harman Center, 101 North 65th Ave., Yakima, WA 98908. Trips do fill, so don’t delay — register today!
What’s Included?
At the end of each tour description there is a list of what is included in your registration fee. It is customary for
us to include a continental breakfast for morning departures, travel accommodations, major sight-seeing, some
meals and tour host.
Deposits/Final Payments
For one-day tours, a deposit or the full payment is due at the time of registration. For overnight tours, a deposit
amount is listed. Final payment due date is listed on the itinerary for each tour.
How Old Do I Have to Be?
The Harman Center plans opportunities for people 55 years and over, however there are exceptions. Adults under
55 can participate by contacting the trip & tour coordinator at 576-6405.
Special Requests/Overnight Tours
We request all nonsmoking rooms, please let us know if you prefer a smoking room. It is customary to request one
bed per room for married couples, please let us know if you prefer two beds.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Room Arrangements
The prices for overnight tours are based on double occupancy (two people sharing a room). If you
wish to have your own room, or share your room with three or more people, please contact the
Tour Coordinator at 576-6405 for registration fee.
Need a Roommate?
Please remember roommates are just that, someone to share your room with. They are not caretakers or best friends. Singles will be matched for seating on the bus. Singles should be ready and
willing to share a seat as most departures run completely full.
Dress Code
Please make sure you dress according to the weather. It is always better to bring a coat or sweater
and not need it, than it is to be without one when it is cold. Please, no perfumes or colognes on the
coach, many people are allergic to scents.
Seating
If you desire or require an additional seat on the bus in order to ride comfortably, you will be
charged for your additional seat.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: I waive all rights and release all claims that might be held against the City of Yakima, Parks and Recreation Division, its hired or contracted instructors or volunteers, and their employees and
agents for any and all injuries or losses which may be suffered because of my participation in the above activity
offered by the City of Yakima Parks and Recreation Division. To the best of my knowledge, I have no physical
or other conditions which would interfere with my participation.
