Mr. Terry Kathol, Principal
Welcome back to the new school year!
We are excited about all of the possibilities this year provides for our
students. It will be fun to see all of the growth they make as the year
progresses.
Thank you to all of the people that helped make our annual Fly-In
Breakfast a success. The money from this fundraiser will be used for
technology needs at the school. Thank you to April and Scott Heimes and
Wendy and Craig Wortmann who were in charge of the breakfast this year.
On September 7 we celebrated Grandparent Day at Holy Trinity. We had
a great turnout of grandparents who attended mass with us and visited the
school. It is always fun to have grandparents visit our school and hear their
stories of when they were in school.
Holy Trinity is blest to have an excellent group of teachers and fantastic
students, we are anticipating a great school year. Please keep our teachers
and students in your prayers as we go through this school year.

TERRA NOVA TESTING
Sept. 26-30
We will be conducting our Terra Nova
testing the week of Sept. 26. These are
our standardized tests that our students
take each year in the 3rd through 6th
grades. As we near our testing time we
will send home more information. We ask
that you also talk to your child about
these tests and encourage them to put
forth their best effort.
It is also helpful during this week to get
plenty of rest and eat a good breakfast.

Howdy from the Wild West!
Our classroom is filled with 26 little first grade
buckaroos this year and some very wonderful helpers.
Mrs. Gina Hochstein helps during Reading, Math and
Computer time. Mrs. Germaine Becker, Mrs. Sandra
Loecker, Mrs. Jill Kleinschmit and our TA Reggie
Miller all help with the extra little things that need to
be done to make the week run smoothly.
We are reviewing short vowel sounds and initial and
final consonants in VoWac. The boys and girls are
bringing home their Reading and AR books each night
to be practiced and we are starting addition in Math
so now is a good time to practice simple addition flash
cards. You can also go onto Sycamore under the links
column and work on IXL or Math Facts. Our Religion
lessons have focused on God as our Heavenly Father
and the creator of all things. We are learning the
Morning Offering and the Act of Contrition at
school also. The first graders will be leading Masses
September 20-22. Please help prepare your child for
the reading parts by practicing each night at home.

Please be sure your child eats a BIG
breakfast each morning and gets plenty of
sleep! We have LOTS of learning and growing
to do this year! God bless you!
A big “Thank You” to all the parents who sent candies for the
Grandparents Day baskets! We ended up with a great variety and filled
52 baskets this year! I believe the grandparents LOVED them!

with the anticipation of two sacraments! The class will begin

reviewing addition and
subtraction concepts in
math class. They will soon
be working with place

them busy with different
kinds of sentences.
The kids need to earn 15 AR points
per quarter. They should have at
least seven points by now to be on
track.
Please remind your children to turn
in their assignment books if they
have math fact or IXL minutes.
The second graders
have learned about

4th Grade Classroom

Welcome to 4th grade! I am excited to begin another year at Holy Trinity
School. I hope your summer was restful and prayer filled. We welcome
Mrs. Jennifer Kleinschmit, Mrs. Nancy Wortmann, and Mrs. Amber Collier
into our classroom this year. They will be a wonderful addition to our
learning environment. We also welcome back Mrs. Vlach. She helps in
our classroom Monday and Wednesday mornings. We are so blessed
with God’s goodness.
Sept 8th- Grandparents Day
We had a wonderful time with our
Grandparents! We met them at
church, enjoyed a mass together and
then interviewed them. We will use
these interviews to create a report
about our lovely grandparents. God
has blessed us with wonderful models
of living our faith!
Continuing with the superb tradition in 4th
grade, the students will participate in an
Elder Friend program with the residents at
Beverly Healthcare. We will be meeting
our new friends in September.
Look for a note in your child’s folder about
homecoming. Once again we will be……
CRAZY RED in the parade.
We have 29 vibrant student in our class this year. We hope to
work especially hard at the beginning of our time together being
kind, learning new routines, and growing in our faith. Being
back in school mode is hard, so please make sure your
child is getting a good breakfast and a good night of sleep.
Evening routines are an important part of a successful year.
God bless the 4th graders as they embark on another
year of learning and growing deeper in their
