DAY 1
Transfer from Catania Fontanarossa airport to Catania area. Accommodation in hotel 4*.
Overnight.
DAY 2
Breakfast in hotel. Departure to an excursion on mount Etna - the highest active volcano
in Europe. After a visit of Etna - departure for Linguaglossa. Visit the most celebrated
winery of Etna. Guided visit of Linguaglossa vineyard. At the end of the visit - light lunch
and wine tasting. Back to the hotel in Catania area. In the evening departure for a city tour
of Catania by night. Admire Piazza Duomo, the Cathedral, the fish market, Castello Orsini
- external, house of the composer Vincenzo Bellini - external, the Church of San Francesco
- external, Via Crociferi and the baroque churches, Palazzo of the University. Back to the
hotel in Catania area. Overnight.
DAY 5 · FALL AND WINTER ·
Breakfast in hotel. Departure for a visit of Scicli, known as Cave, the baroque city and
UNESCO World Heritage Site. Departure for an Olfactory guided journey among
medicinal and aromatic herbs in a wonderful countryside location. Cooking Class with the
herbs and lunch with typical Sicilian culinary. Departure to Ragusa Ibla, declared a
Unesco World Heritage as valuable evidence of Baroque art. Visit of the town. Departure
to Modica and enjoy Sicilian dinner. Sightseeing excursion of Modica by night, with its
narrow houses, churches and baroque buildings. Back to the accommodation in
“Ragushire”. Overnight.
DAY 3
Breakfast in hotel. Departure to Castelmola - natural balcony above Taormina, that offers
breathtaking views. Cooking class and lunch in at typical restaurant. Furthermore, the
location of the restaurant will allow you to enjoy a great view of the Calabrian coast,
Taormina, Giardini Naxos and Etna. After cooking class - transfer to Taormina for a
sightseeing excursion of the town: visit the Church of San Pancrazio, the famous Greek
Theatre, the Duomo St. Nicholas and the ruins of the Castle. Back to the hotel in Catania
area. Overnight.
DAY 4
Breakfast in hotel. Departure to Noto, one of the "baroque pearls" of the island, included
by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. Visit of the town. Transfer and visit to Marzameni, a
small town in the territory of Pachino, famous for cherry tomato. Light lunch at a typical
shop of Sicilian culinary. Move to Portopalo through a spectacular scenic route, adjacent
to the sea and admire the oldest in Europe historic trap, the castle of Tafuri and the island
of Capopassero on the Pirates Bay. Departure to Ragushire. Accomodation in an
historical house. Welcome dinner and overnight.
DAY 6
Breakfast in hotel. Departure to Caltagirone, known worldwide for its handmade ceramic
of art. Visit of the town and shopping tour through the shops of the masters ceramist. Visit
of the park of the city, Ceramic Museum, Bridge of San Francesco, the former prison of the
Bourbons - external, Town Hall Square, Staircase of Santa Maria del Monte, Civic Gallery
of Contemporary Art, tour among the shops of ceramics. Wine tasting & light lunch in a
winery. Move to “Villa Romana del Casale”, UNESCO world heritage - the most impressive
building of Roman age in Sicily. Shopping and tasting of typical food. Departure
to Agrigento area. Accommodation in hotel 4*. Overnight.
DAY 7
Breakfast in hotel. Departure to a sightseeing excursion in one of the largest
archaeological sites in the Mediterranean - Valley of Temples. Visit of the Temple of
Juno, the Temple of Concordia in Doric style and very well preserved, early Christian
necropolis, the Villa Aurea, Temple of Hercules, Temple of Zeus, Temple of Castor and
Pollux. Visit a farm dairy and have a light lunch, tasting a local cheese excellences in
Cammarata. Departure to Sutera, a small agricultural borgo that maintained its medieval
structure. Visit of the borgo including the oldest part of the town - district of Rabato. Back
to the hotel in Catania area. Overnight.
