St. Bonaventure University invites applications for the full time position of Assistant
Director/Counselor for the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP). Will provide a wide
variety of support services to HEOP and other students, assist with the coordination and delivery
of counseling services, assist with the development of student oriented academic and social
programs, and support program and university objectives and values.
Applicants
should
possess
two
(2)
to
three
(3)
years demonstrated
experience counseling and working with minority, non-traditional/ disadvantaged students in a
post-secondary setting. Masters degree in Counseling, Student Personnel, Education or other
related field required. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as excellent
organizational skills required; Spanish language a plus. Familiarity with financial aid, ESL, and
academic support programs is highly desirable. Seasonally, extended hours will be necessary to
accomplish the needs of the position. Some travel required. Holds a clean and valid driver’s
license.
