Anita Ott - Okanagan Gymnastics Centre

ANITA OTT
Director Operations
Anita attended BCIT in Burnaby BC completing her
education in Business Management specializing in
Accounting. During this time she worked full time for a
Vancouver law firm in the accounting department. In 1991
she changed careers and became a stay at home mom and
took care of her two girls. In 1993 her husband took a
transfer and they moved to Kelowna.
In 1998 she started working as a noon hour supervisor at
the school her girls attended. She also was very active in
the Parent Advisory Committee as the Fundraising Chair
and the Treasurer for 7 years. Anita continued to
volunteer in the schools until both girls graduated.
During their younger years she enrolled both girls in
Gymnastics. This quickly became a passion for them and
they were invited into the competitive program. Along
with that commitment came the opportunity for Anita to
join The Board of Directors at the Okanagan Gymnastics
Centre. During this time Anita was a Director at Large and
Treasurer for four years.
She truly enjoys working with children and decided that
coaching would fulfill that passion. In 2001 she decided to
pursue coaching and after many courses and professional
development opportunities she is now certified Level 2 in
Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Level 1 in Trampoline and
Activestart in the National Coaching Certification
Program. Anita then quickly earned the role of the
Recreational Coordinator.
When the Managers position became vacant, she applied
and since 2007 Anita has been the Director of
Operations. Her passion for sport is evident as her vision
to provide the community with quality programming in an
exciting, dynamic, healthy and positive environment for
OGC continues.
Prior to commencing her studies at BCIT she lived in
Switzerland for one year and worked as a nanny in Geneva.
She is also fluent in conversational Swiss German.
In her spare time Anita enjoys spending time with her
family, traveling and participating in triathlons. Anita has
been active in her community by volunteering at various
races and swim meets.
