This year’s Horticultural Show is being sponsored by Hambrooks and the classes include all the favourites plus a few new ones including a class for a classic white loaf, the best decorated Gingerbread Man (junior section) and an article of patchwork. Your support of this element of the show is always appreciated. With your entries we are hoping to create a wonderful show of vegetables, fruit, flowers/plants, crafts, photography, cookery and a fun-packed Junior section. With your help, we could give a chance to children and young people you know to grow, design and make to take part in the show. There is something for everyone to show their talents from Novice to Expert. The full schedule for the Horticultural Show can be downloaded from our website or obtained by calling the Horticultural Show telephone number, details of both can be found on the opposite page. Feeling a little hungry? Our traditional Tea Tent is open all day and offers a huge range of scrummy things to eat including ploughman’s lunch, sausage rolls, quiche, sandwiches, cakes and much more. Of course, there will be gallons of tea, coffee and cold drinks, all prepared and served by our wonderful team of volunteers. Our prices are pretty good as well so you can afford to come for lunch and still fit in afternoon tea and snacks. Down at the Cricket Club Pavilion you will find the Hog Roast and Barbeque, conveniently situated next to our fully licensed bar selling among other things, real ale. The Hog Roast is supplied and cooked by Nick, our local butcher, so we know it will be very tasty. Around the Showground you will be able to buy some pretty strong cider, and the two ice cream vans will be tempting you to partake of something naughty but nice. Forget the diet and hope that the apples in the cider count towards your five a day!
