Gatlin Blvd. & Veterans Memorial
Parkway Rehabilitation
Studies (Districts 2, 3, & 4) –
Evaluation of the existing roadways
to determine best rehabilitation
technique. The study for Veterans
Memorial Parkway has been completed and is under review by staff.
The report for Gatlin will be complete in the summer of 2017.
Rosser Blvd. Pavement Reconstruction and Sidewalk
(District 3) –
City Council will consider the construction contract at the March 13th
meeting. The item was pulled from
the February 27th meeting to allow
staff additional time to evaluate Local Preference requirements. This
project includes about 2.1 miles
of pavement reconstruction from
Apricot Rd. to just south of Delos
Ave. and about one mile of sidewalk extending from the existing
sidewalk at Crawford Ave. to Open
View Dr. Construction is anticipated to start by April and be completed by September.
Veteran’s Memorial
Stormwater Quality Retrofit
(District 4) –
Construction bids are scheduled
to be opened on March 28th. Staff
anticipates construction of the two
wet detention ponds and two out-
fall structures will begin this summer. After completion, this project
will provide additional stormwater
treatment and nutrient removal
prior to discharge into the North
Fork of the St Lucie River.
Bayshore Blvd. & Port St. Lucie
Blvd. Intersection Improvements
(Districts 1 and 4)
Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise
(FTE) held a public hearing on
February 23rd for the proposed
improvements to the Port St Lucie
Boulevard and Bayshore Boulevard
intersection. Based upon input
from the public and the City, the
FTE will delay the left turn restriction at Bayshore Boulevard onto
the Turnpike Access Road. Additionally, the designer will evaluate
the feasibility of providing storage
for vehicles on Bayshore Boulevard making a left onto the Turnpike Access Road. The intersection
will be monitored and if warranted (by crashes and traffic patterns)
the FTE will re-evaluate restricting
left turns at the intersection. The
project manager with the Turnpike

California and Del Rio Right Turn Lane (Districts
1 and 2) – Construction of the right turn lane is
underway. The contractor has cleared the area
and is working on the drainage improvements.
Del Rio Boulevard Sidewalk construction continues.
An 850-foot segment of sidewalk on Floresta Boulevard
between Airoso Boulevard and Ardsley Drive is being
constructed.
(a) Contractor has exceeded the contract time. Per the contract, the Contractor is being charged liquidated
damages each day. The liquidated damage fees are to cover CEI and staff time. Bonding company contacted.

A spree was initiated after there were three work
truck and trailer burglaries and tire and rim thefts
in the location of S.W. Biltmore Street, within a
.35 mile radius, Feb. 22. The primary items stolen were tires, rims, work tools & equipment.

A Hot Spot was created after four unlocked vehicles
were broken into and loose change was stolen in the
vicinity of S.W. College Park Road February 12-22.

A Hot Spot was made due to 3 incidents involving
auto burglaries February 18-22, in the S.W. Jacoby Ave.
area. Items that were stolen included a purse with a
wallet and cell phone, two portable DVD players and
a GPS unit.

A Spree was created after 4 auto burglaries in the area
of S.W. Mapelwood Drive on Feb. 20 and 21, 2017.
Five unlocked vehicles in total were ransacked and
various items were stolen out of their center consoles.

A Spree was initiated after there were two incidents of
auto burglaries that involved three unlocked vehicles
in the area of S.W. Undallo Road February 15 and 16,
2017. The unknown suspect stole loaded firearms from
these vehicles.

Detectives placed $1,575
into evidence.
March 1, S.I.D. Detectives
went to a home on S.E.
Elmhurst Rd to serve a
search warrant. Detectives
were able to seize 187
grams of Cannabis, 31
Xanax pills, drug paraphernalia, and $3,950 in
cash. A 55 year-old man
was arrested on multiple
charges stemming from
the items located in his
home.
