Paul Pfeiffer November 12-15 and 19-22, 2015 Black Box Theatre, Fulton Hall October 8-11and 15-18, 2015 Black Box Theatre, Fulton Hall Welcome! Auditions: Tuesday and Wednesday, September 1st and 2nd, 7 -9pm (All actors must attend only one of these nights) Callbacks: Thursday, September 3rd, 7 - 9pm The best-loved classic novel of coming of age amidst prejudice is told with genuine heart and emotional depth. As racial injustice envelopes a smalltown, lawyer Atticus Finch seeks Truth, and his feisty daughter Scout brings new hope to a community in turmoil. A story as moving and magical as you could ever hope to find. Casting Requirements: In order to properly balance university actors as the adults, we are seeking younger actors to play the three children. Needed: Two boys and one girl who can easily pass for between nine and twelve years of age. Jem, the oldest boy, is athletic but slim. Scout, his tom-boy sister is nine and just as tough as any of the boys - yet kind and sympathetic to those who suffer. Dill, is a boy with a wild imagination and a more intellectual turn. All three, however, need to be slim and smaller in build to accentuate youth. Actors who can meet these physical requirements yet are slightly older would be preferred. Two African American male actors and one female for principal roles. One of the men is younger, but the other two are middle aged characters. Also, several added African American actors of both genders are needed for the courtroom scene. All other characters are ranged in age from early adulthood to old age. All characters will be taught to use the dialect of Alabama. No experience is needed - just a desire to work and learn. Please contact Dr. Pfeiffer for further details as needed: [email protected] Audition Format: Cold readings from Talley’s Folly Preparation: Examine the text. Consider: Where is there humor?
