Parish Support for RCIA
How can we help the Catechumens and
Candidates come to know Jesus?
As people of God, we can help by the way
we the community live out the gospel way of
life and by the care and concern we offer to
help the catechumen/candidate on their faith
journey. By participating in the liturgies and
conducting ourselves before, during and after
Mass, we convey our sincerity of our belief
and practice.
Also, by volunteering to be a catechist
(teacher) or a sponsor for a catechumen, we
demonstrate our willingness to assist in the
RCIA program. Most importantly we help by
praying for the persons in the program as
they discern and accept the teachings of the
Catholic faith. We pray in thanksgiving for
the catechist, priest and deacons who assist in
this process.

Pray for the Canoniza on of
Father Augustus Tolton
In a portrait placed in the Rectory Chapel at Immaculate Concep on Church, Father Augustus Tolton’s
expressive eyes tell a story of a holy life. Tolton’s
story (From Slave to Priest: The Inspira onal Story
of Father Augus ne Tolton (1854-1897) is so compelling. It speaks of a saintly life filled with courage,
strong faith and desire to do Gods’ will.
Three mes during the year, parishioners at Immaculate will pray the nine-day novena to Father Tolton
for the Spiritual Welfare of the Black American community, followed by the prayer for his canoniza on.
The three ideal mes for this Novena are: – Prefacing his Birth: March 23 to March 31 – Prefacing his
Date of Ordina on: April 15 to April 23 – Prefacing
his Death: June 30 to July 8.
The novena prayers can be found at
www.toltonnovena.org/novena/.
Also, the novena prayer will be available for parishioners to pray, at home or small group, from June
30th - July 8th.

St. Therese Alumni Sought for 90th Anniversary
In preparation of celebrating our 90th school year at St. Therese, we would like to recognize the
great accomplishments and lives of those who have walked our halls over the years. In order to do
so, we are building a database of alumni to potentially profile on our website, on our walls and in
person on campus throughout our 90th school year in 2017-2018 and beyond.
The end goal of this endeavor is to increase interaction between alumni and current students and
families. We want to instill an awareness and appreciation of our alumni because we know they can
inspire the next generation of All-Stars.
We are asking for names, graduation years, current contact info, a brief statement on what St.
Therese means to you, and what you are doing today.
If you would like to be a part of this effort or nominate a classmate or friend to, please send an email to [email protected] with your response to the ask above by June 19, 2017.
Rainbow Schools: Your Parish School
We invite you to come see what a positive difference a Catholic education can make for your family. Our highly diverse school communities have long traditions of engaging students with academic rigor steeped in strong Catholic
values. We work in partnership with families to teach the skills, behaviors and attitudes necessary for learning and
encourage students to reach their highest potential in every area of their lives. Our graduates go on to make positive
differences in their high schools and local communities. We offer a variety of specialist classes, sports programs, after
school clubs and Extended Care programs to support and enrich our students’ lives. So come, walk through our classrooms, meet our staff and see our students shine!
Registration for the 2017-18 is open. As a Rainbow parish family, you will also receive our in- parish rate. Because
we are committed to being accessible to all families who value Catholic education, tuition assistance is available to
those who qualify. We will work hard to make it work for your family!
