This meet is intended for novice swimming individuals.
Swimmers will be asked not to select events they have JO times in.
Coaches: Please work with your team to identify the appropriate individuals for this
meet.
Sanction: Under sanction #
by USA Swimming and Alaska Swimming, Inc.
(ASI). It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free from any liabilities or
claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event.
Location: Bartlett High School Pool, Anchorage, AK
Facility: Bartlett pool Eight (8) lane, 25 yard competition pool, divided by Kiefer Flo-thru
lane lines. International Sports Timing system with touch pads, eight (8) lane display, one
button manual back-up, one hand held digital watch per lane and horn/strobe light start.
Starting Depth: 4 ft Shallow End, 12 ft. Deep End; Turn end: 4 ft shallow end, 5 ft deep
end. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4) of the
USAS Rules and Regulations.

Warm ups will be conducted in accordance with USAS and ASI warm-up / warm-down
will be determined by meet referee.
Each team is requested to provide Clerk of Course with a list of scratches by 8:30 am.
There are no penalties for late scratches. However, meet management is facilitated if
scratches can be noted before the meet begins.
Eligibility: Open to all USAS registered swimmers. However, a swimmer may not swim
in any event in which they have previously achieved a JO qualifying time for 2014.
Swimmers must swim within their age group categories and will not be allowed to
swim up for this meet. Please note: per ASI rules, swimmers may not be allowed to swim
in the meet unless a signed coach’s verification form has been received. (Available on ASI
website: www.akswimming.org) and according to the new rules, these pools are not
currently certified by USAS. Adaptive Swimmers: Disabled or adapted swimmers are
welcome and encouraged to participate. Coaches should include a written description of
the special needs of the disabled/adaptive swimmer with the team entries. Questions
regarding final assignment within specified heats should be brought to the attention of the
Meet Referee.

Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member
coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in
performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is
responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance
with this requirement.
All events will be swum as timed finals. Swimmers will be seeded slow to fast.
In Accordance with USAS Rules and Regulations 202.3.4(D), the use of audio or
visual recording devices, including cell phones, is not permitted in changing areas,
restrooms or locker rooms.
Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into and out of swimsuits
other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is
prohibited.
Awards: Ribbons for first through eighth place will be awarded to each age level (6, 7,
8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, etc.) even though the athletes will compete in combined age groups.
Ribbons for first through fourth place will be awarded for relays for each combined age
group. Special Awards for first through third place will be handed out to the
swimmers for each age group with the lowest combined time for the pentathlon.
Entry Date: Entries must be submitted via email ([email protected]) by 6 pm on
April 29, 2015.
Entries:
1. Each swimmer may enter no more than five (5) individual and one relay event for
the meet.
2. Entries must be submitted by Hy-tek or team Unify format. Entries must be
submitted via email. It is the responsibility of the TEAM entry person to confirm
that entries have been received by Meet management.
3. A pre-built .HYV file for this meet is available on the ASI website.
4. A current USAS registration number for each athlete must be provided with all
entries.
5. Teams must submit the following prior to the beginning of the meet:
a. Hy-tek meet entry report
b. Hy-tek team entry fee report
c. Coach/Swimmer USAS Membership Verification form

Housing: None will be provided, but in an emergency please contact the Meet Director.
Scoring: No team or individual scoring.
Concessions: A light concession stand will be available on Saturday.
Pool Rules: No glass on deck at any time. No shaving allowed on site. Per USAS and
ASD regulations, smoking or use of other tobacco products is NOT permitted before,
during, or after the meet in any area on the deck, in the pool building, or outside, adjacent
to the pool building.
