The first 1,000 children who sign up for the Summer Reading Program
will receive a free Once Upon a Time t-shirt.
Every Friday of the Summer Reading Program, children who
check out a book, can reach in the grab bag for a prize.
We will have surprise drawings for prizes during some of our programs.
You never know when, so come as often as you can.
We will be giving away 30 iPODs this summer.
Starting the second week of the Summer Program
we will give away an iPOD each day.
Sign up and enter your name in the drawing. For each book you read
you can enter your name again. You can enter the drawings
as many times as you like, just keep reading.
Every “READING” participant is entered in the
GRAND PRIZE drawing.

Join the tournament, Knights and Ladies! Welcome to the
Petersburg Public Library System’s Summer Reading Program
2006: Once Upon a Time. Come see the King’s jiggling jugglers
and laugh at the Kingdom’s silliest dragons. Enter the fairytale
world of fantastic guest performers, whimsical variety shows,
charming storytimes, make-believe films, enchanting crafts
and spellbinding magic.
Here’s the summer schedule, so start signing up, beginning
Monday, June 19 and do a little “castle-building” at the Library.

June 19 (Mon.) – Film, The Chronicles of Narnia (PG, 134 mins.)
This film is based on the classic book, The Lion, the Witch and the
Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. Four children find a magic wardrobe that

a young girl. This is another great film by the Japanese Disney,

better than Disney. Its magic leaves a deep impression on every child
who has ever seen it. “When You Wish Upon a Star,” is an

with a hip attitude, starring Brandi and Whitney Houston and a glitzy

Traveler Variety Show.” He will definitely captivate you with music,

June 28 (Wed.) – Film, Nanny McPhee (PG) A nanny with an
extremely large buck tooth and hairy worts can tame the naughtiest of
children. This is great fun and sure to please both adults and children.
