Muslims do feel at home in Taj Mahal would have been

Union
Minister
Salman
Despite many provocations Khurshid.
and allegations that cast doubt on
"Muslims have played an
their patriotism, Muslims do feel important role in the Indian history they play one in the modern
India too. And I think we were as
a society and as a family looking
at addressing these things till
such time when some people
decided to question it as appeasement, unfair discrimination and
as leaning towards somebody for
votes etc, even then Muslims do
feel at home in India," Khurshid
said at the ongoing Jaipur
Literature Festival.
The Congress leader accompanied by his wife Louise
Khurshid was here to launch his
new book titled "At Home in
India: The Muslim Saga".
"People think that Hindus
and Muslims are two different
segments of society. A minority
or the majority. This is not true.
JAIPUR, Jan 25:
This book is about all of us being
one family and not just by way of
a platitude but because it's a
shared concern and many of the
things that Muslims see or have
been subjected to perhaps are not
even known among other members of the family," he said.
He cited the Sachar
Committe report constituted in
2005. as the "first official authentic version of the circumstances
since independence which have
been inflicted upon Muslims and
how this could be addressed."
"My claim here is that this is
not true, but if it is not true it
must be understood by every
Indian that and whatever needs to
be done is the responsibility of
every Indian and not of Muslims
themselves.
"Perhaps strategically it may
be more productive to have other
people than Muslims speak for
them. (PTI)
The world famous Taj Mahal
-a white marble mausoleum
located in Uttar Pradesh’s Agrawould have been constructed in
Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur as
the original grave of Mughal
emperor Shah Jahan’s third wife
Mumtaz Mahal was here. Shah
Jahan built the Taj Mahal in
memory of Mumtaz Mahal on
the bank of the Yamuna river.
The construction began around
1632 and was completed around
1653, employing thousands of
artisans and craftsmen.
“Very few people are aware of
the fact that the Mughal emperor
originally decided to build the
magnificent piece of architectural
monument at Ahukhana on the
bank of the Tapti River near
Burhanpur — the original grave
of the Begum. But as the soil and
ground surface were not suitable
for construction of the huge monument, Shah Jahan had to abandon the idea,” Former assistant

Pankaj Sharan said. According to
Modi poured tea for his guest in Historian Nand Kishore Devra Taj
a cup and handed it to him.
"Prime Minister Modi, thank
you for hosting me, including our
'chai pe charcha'. We need more
of those in the White House. But
even as this visit is rich with symbolism, we made substantive
progress," the US President said
during his joint media interaction
with Prime Minister Modi.

Lok Sabha elections campaign,
Modi's 'chai pe charcha' aimed

Modi's ‘chai pe charcha’ with Obama
NEW DELHI, Jan 25:
It was optics as much as substance as Prime Minister
Narendra
Modi
engaged
President Barack Obama in his
trademark 'chai pe charcha'
(conversation over tea) this
afternoon and personally pouring the tea for his guest on the
lawns of Hyderabad House.
In the midst of serious discussions over nuclear deal and
other issues, the two leaders
went for a brief walk at the
sprawling Hyderabad House
lawns before settling in a special
enclosure where they continued
one-on-one talks over tea,

BURHANPUR, MP, Jan 25:
Mahal was not built at Ahukhana
as the geographical location was
not favourable besides there was a
danger of flood in the Tapti River.
Moreover, the distance from Delhi
to Burhanpur also forced the
emperor to shun the idea, he
added.
Mumtaz Begum breathed last
while she was giving birth to her
14th child at “Shahi Quila” on
the bank of the Tapti River on
June 17, 1631. Her body was
buried at Ahukhana- a hunting
house of Mughals- on the other
side of the river. (UNI)
