There are picnic tables and a place to build a fire. Cabin 3 was the second cabin to go to the teepee this year. They made S’mores, played a game or two, and sang songs. They saw a wolf but it was harmless and really cool but super small. The teepee, however, is pretty big. When they finished their S’mores they went to sleep since it was an early wakeup. All the girls slept next to each other in sleeping bags. They were so tired they needed to be woken up to get back to camp for flagpole. Water Carnival! By Olivia Frankel While some campers competed against Chippewa in basketball, tennis and soccer, the rest of Agawak had a Water Carnival. The three rotations were open waterfront, Slip ‘n’ Slide at Alumni Hall, and Water Freeze tag at the Lower athletic field. At the Lower field, girls played a relay game with a greasy watermelon. They also played freeze dance and if they moved, water balloons were popped over their head. At Alumni Hall, there was a dunk tank and a long Slip ‘n’ Slide. I was so nervous to go in the dunk tank because the water was cold, but it was so much fun I went again! Overall, the Water Carnival was very fun, and a huge success! CAMP AGAWAK AGAZINE 2013 Comedy Sports By Emily Williams On Tuesday June 25th, the staff put on an improve show called comedy sports. They played hilarious games on stage to entertain the campers. The games were called Do-Run-Run, 2 Letters, Going To a Party, The Alphabet Game, and Scrapbook. Do-Run-Run is where they were given a name and had to rhyme it to create a funny story, but they had to do it in time with the fast-paced beat! In Two Letters, the audience gives two letters that each girl has to use as a verb and a noun. For example, M.P. could be Making Pancakes, and then the next girl in line has to act that out and make up a new one for the next person in line. Going to a Party is when everyone at the ‘party’ had something interesting about them. They were allergic to hair, Oprah, gassy, in love with a shoe, swatting a fly, attached to people, and a Justin Bieber Superfan. One counselor had to guess what was unique about each girl as they acted it out. In scrapbook, one counselor told a story about her vacation as all the others posed on stage as if they were pictures. The audience loved it! Competition with Chippewa By Emily Williams On Wednesday June 26th, the Juniors and young Intermediates traveled to Camp Chippewa to compete against the all girls camp in basketball, tennis, and soccer. It was a hot morning, and the girls worked so hard to play for their camp. They all stayed hydrated with lots of water and showed their good sportsmanship. Agawak won in soccer and basketball and Chippewa defeated Agawak in Tennis. Everyone had a lot of fun, and got to cool off at the Water Carnival after! Agazine Writers Olivia Frankel Emily Williams 2
