Oven Glove and Pot Holder
Oven Glove
Materials
Design pieces 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b
Use this method for these pieces
Use Plain Cotton Fabric for pieces 1a and 2a
Use Printed Cotton Fabric for pieces 1b and 2b
Cutaway Stabilizer
Heatex Batting or
Heat Proof Batting
Hoop 1 layer of cutaway stabilizer. Stitch the first color of the design. Place a Plain Cotton Fabric
piece of Heat Proof Batting and a piece of fabric on the stitched area. Stitch
the rest of the design leaving the last two colors unstitched. Place a piece of Printed Cotton Fabric
plain cotton fabric onto the underside of the hoop. Stitch the second to last
color. Remove hoop from machine a trim away excess fabric from both sides Ribbon for Pot Holder
of the hoop. Stitch the last color. Cut the design out of the stabilizer.

To Put the Oven Glove together
Use a zig zag stitch on your sewing machine. Stitch the top half to the bottom half for both the plain and
printed pieces. Put the pieces together with right sides out and sew together along the edge leaving the base
of the glove open

For the Pot Holder
Stitch design pieces 3a and 3b
3a uses plain fabric
3b uses printed fabric
Hoop 1 layer of cutaway stabilizer. Stitch the first color of the design. Place a piece of Heat Proof Batting
and a piece of fabric on the stitched area. Stitch the rest of the design leaving the last two colors unstitched. Stitch the second to last color. Remove hoop from machine a trim away excess fabric from the design. Stitch the last color. Cut the design out of the stabilizer.

To put the Pot Holder Together
Use a zig zag stitch on your sewing machine. Cut a piece of ribbon 4 inches long. Fold in half and stitch to
the stabilizer side of the printed fabric piece. Put the plain and printed fabric design pieces together, right
sides facing out and stitch along the edges.
