Macintosh Network Plus Installation Instructions
This document explains how to apply the Read Naturally Software Edition 2.1.2 content updates to existing installations of
SE version 2.1.x. These updates are only applied to the server and are not required. This document includes instructions
for the following:

Affected Phonics levels:
•
In the Phonics level 1.8 story “Chocolate Chip Cookies”, the word “surprised” is misspelled in quiz question 5.
•
In the Phonics level 2.3 story "Tornadoes", the word "strong" is misspelled.
•
In the Phonics level 2.7 story "Ain't I a Woman?", sentence 3 of quiz question 1 contains an extra "had".
Affected Sequenced levels:
•
In the Sequenced level 1.0 story “Trucks”, the graphics for the words “loads” and “dumps” are switched in Print
Preview.
•
In the Sequenced level 3.5 story "America's Emperor", the phrase "play along" in quiz question 3 is missing the
quotation marks.
•
In the Sequenced level 4.0 story “The Killer Whale”, the definition for the key word “glossy” contains a spelling
error. The word “mean” should read “means”.
•
In the Sequenced level 6.0 story "The Stonefish", page 2 of the story contains a spelling error. The word "among"
is incorrect in the following sentence, "Lying on the shallow bottom among...” The word should be "along".

In the Sequenced level 6.0 story “The Armadillo”, the word “afraid” is misspelled in the sample sentence for the
vocabulary word “strange”.
•
In the Sequenced level 7.0 story “Machu Picchu”, one of the questions in quiz question 6 contains a grammatical
error. There should be an apostrophe following the word conquistadors’.
Updating Macintosh OS X server:
1. Download the desired content installation file from the following web page to the Mac OS X computer hosting the
SE server software: http://www.readnaturally.com/support/products-se212upd.htm
Phonics:
Sequenced:
RN_NetPlus_ContentPhon_Mac.dmg
RN_NetPlus_ContentSeq_Mac.dmg
2. Locate the downloaded file on your computer and double-click it. This extract the volume
RN_NetPlus_ContentPhon_Mac for Phonics or RN_NetPlus_ContentSeq_Mac for sequenced. If needed,
double-click the volume to open it.
3. Double-click RNServerUpdate_ContentPhon_Mac for Phonics or RNServerUpdate_ContentSeq_Mac for
sequenced to start the upgrade. The Apple Authenticate screen displays. Enter the appropriate Apple
administrator user ID and password, and then click OK.

4. The Introduction screen displays. Click Continue.
5. The license agreement displays. Read the license agreement (you can click Print… to print it), and then click
Continue to continue with the upgrade.
6. To continue the upgrade, you must Agree with the terms of the license agreement.
7. Click Update to start the update. The installer will take a few moments to find the existing installation. A bar
shows the installation progress.
8. When the update finishes, click Quit.
