Blowing Rock, N.C. (August 30, 2016) – Tweetsie Railroad’s Ghost Train® Halloween Festival
will return Friday and Saturday nights from September 23 through October 29, 2016, just in time
for the ghoulish season. Guests from far and wide plan their trips each year to enjoy Tweetsie
Railroad’s family-friendly Halloween celebration and witness the spectacular Blue Ridge
Mountain leaf season.
The park opens at 7:30 p.m. each evening for the Ghost Train Halloween Festival and tickets
are $36 per person. Beginning this
year, tickets are being sold for a
designated night with a specific train
ride time, so ticket holders will enjoy a
shorter wait for the Ghost Train ride. A
limited number of guests are admitted
each evening; visitors are urged to
purchase tickets in advance to avoid
missing out on all the Halloween fun.
Daytime visitors can still enjoy all of Tweetsie Railroad’s Wild West adventures, rides, shows
and attractions; but when darkness sets in, the park transforms into a ghoulish good time,
complete with all the Halloween thrills and chills. Guests will be frightfully entertained when
hordes of fun and creepy creatures emerge, as the unexpected awaits around every bend. The
highlight of the evening is a ride on the theme park’s star attraction, the spooky Ghost Train,
which howls its way through the chill of the Blue Ridge night every 30 minutes. This year, guests
are invited to join monster hunters and news media as they try to uncover the truth behind
rumors of bizarre and terrifying creatures reported to be roaming the mountains.
Named as one of the “Top 20 Events in the Southeast” by the Southeast Tourism Society,
Tweetsie’s Ghost Train® Halloween Festival has
plenty of safe and scary entertainment for the
whole family. Hop aboard the Ghost Train and join
engineer Casey Bones for a journey into the
darkness. Don’t miss the spine-chilling Haunted
House, where 13 spooky rooms beckon you to
enter. Cautiously stroll through the Freaky Forest to
encounter dark surprises along a desolate
woodland path, and visit The Boneyard to venture
into the 3-D Maze, the disorienting Black Hole, and
a mystifying Warp Tunnel.
Take a spin on the rides in the Creepy Carnival and enjoy the frightfully delightful black light
musical spooktacular shows at the Tweetsie Palace. Guests that choose to dress up in their
Halloween best and trick-or-treat will feel right at home among Tweetsie’s 200 employees who
are transformed into frights of the night by professional costumers and make-up artists.
