Today when I see private company financial statements I tend to see two types: (1) those created
on an income tax basis, and (2) those that disclaim so much I am not sure what standards apply.
The profession can do better, but not as long as private companies are an afterthought to SEC
reporting companies
A separate standard setting body is needed.
