Teams are often comprised of a group of individuals that are striving to
accomplish a shared goal. Some teams are successful, and some are not. The key to
creating a successful team, whether that team is comprised of 50 individuals or 10, is
to provide all team members with the opportunity to create effective relationships
with their peers based on communication and respect. The most effective way to
promote these necessary elements in a team is through team-building activities.
Team-building increases employee productivity, encourages shared leadership and
decision making, and allows employees to create meaningful relationships with their
co-workers. There is a direct link between the quality of a working relationship
between team members and the overall effectiveness of an organization/business as
a whole.
Here at Long Acre Farms, we strive to help you build a better team, which will
in turn, help you build a better organization/business. Our Farm is an authentic 3rd
generation farm and one of the leading agri-entertainment locations in New York
State. We are located only 20 miles from downtown Rochester and well worth the
trip from any location. The farm lends itself to providing the kind of environment
needed to take the focus off the day-to-day routine and we specialize in teambuilding activities. We will refresh your team’s spirits for a more productive
workweek and give your group an outing that will be discussed long after you return
to the office.

Teambuilding at Long Acre Farms
As you know, teambuilding can come in many forms: some very serious, some semi-dangerous, and some while
sitting in a lecture hall. While these all have their worth, teambuilding at Long Acre Farms is none of the above.
We focus on having fun, relaxing in a country setting, and communicating with others to accomplish your
objectives. Our teambuilding sessions can be custom designed by our Program Coordinator to fit your
company’s needs. Looking to build trust and communicational skills? Hoping to promote team-work? Our
programs are perfect for your needs!
Our teambuilding options:
Option 1: The Amazing Maize Maze
The maze is much more than a walk through a cornfield. There are only 5 others like it in
the entire country. It is a 5-acre puzzle with 2 ½ miles of pathways, 12 hidden mailboxes,
12 “Kernels of Knowledge”, great music piped throughout the field, two bridges, a tower,
lots of clues, and most important, teams of folks trying to find their way out. We believe
that teambuilding is a natural outgrowth of the maze experience. This program will begin
with a brief group activity and can end with a group debriefing.
Includes maze teambuilding, snack, drink, and souvenir

Option 2: Wine Tasting Essentials
This program can be given on its own or as a wrap up to the maze teambuilding.
A member of JD Wine Cellars staff will lead you through an entertaining and
interactive tasting session. Includes JD Wine Cellars glass.
$6 per person
Add a hors d’oeuvre for $1.50/person
Option 4: New York vs. The World
In teams, the group will taste two different wines at each of 4 stations. One wine will be from New York State
and the other can be from any other wine making region in the world. Teams will work together to discover
which is which based on the New York State knowledge provided by the instructor. The team with the most
correct answers wins a prize! Includes tastings, JD Wine Cellars glass, snacks, prizes and learning materials.

Picnics
Company Picnics have been a Long Acre Farms specialty for over 15 years. Picnics at Long Acres have
something for everyone. Enjoy fresh country air, a little exercise and plenty fun away from the office.
We will help you coordinate so all you have to do is enjoy the day!
The Red Party Barn is a renovated hay barn built in the 1920s used for everything from Family Reunions to
Wedding Receptions. Its authentic charm and rustic appeal will enhance the mood of your event. The Barn can
be reserved for the duration of your event and set-up any way you’d like.

Smokin’ Feast (all pork smoked here on the farm!)
Long Acre Farms’ Signature Pulled Pork & Grilled Chicken Breasts Additional Meat Choices for kids (hot dogs) and
vegetarians (Boca burgers) available by request Served with corn bread, salt potatoes, 2 appetizers, 2 additional sides,
beverages and a dessert.
Down Home Meal
Down home cooking offers delicious Grilled Chicken Breast and Hamburgers, 1 appetizer, 2 sides, beverages
and a dessert.
Traditional Farm Picnic
A traditional picnic menu with hamburgers plus your choice of Zweigle Red Hots or Hot Italian Sausage, plus 2
sides, chips, beverages and a dessert. Vegetarian options available.
Sides include: delicious classic comfort foods like Cole Slaw, BBQ Beans, Salt Potatoes and Macaroni and Cheese.
*Two hour in the Red Party Barn is included. Minimums apply.
A-la-cart options available.
All meal options can be modified and adapted to meet the needs, as well as the budgetary concerns of
