Our Venues
• The Illini Union at the University of Illinois, 1401
W Green St, Urbana, Illinois 61801, a Works
Project Administration development, was built in
1939 in the architectural style of colonial Virginia.
Our dances will be held in the beautiful ballroom!
The UCD is NOT allowed to provide food, so
please bring your own snacks and water
bottle. We will make it up to you with lots of
food at the after-dance party!

the Illini Union with other dancers and she will put you

The Schedule
• Friday night dance 8p-11:30p (Ballroom):
Admission Adult $25/Student $15. Dance to the
mesmerizing tunes of The Mean Lids (Miriam
Larson, Matt Turino (Urbana) & Ben Smith
(Indy), the driving beat of Turnip the Beet
(Jeremy Lekich, Kelsey Wells, Nashville, TN)
and to some of our best local callers Anne Huber
(Urbana), Scott Meyer and Jonathan Sivier
(Champaign).
• All day Saturday: $35/$25 Students.
• Saturday Afternoon Dance 2p-4p (Ballroom):
$10/$5. Step to sweet old-time tunes of Too Old
To Be Controlled (Claudia & Gary Kaufman,
Dave Kuntz, Bloomington-Normal, IL area) &
internationally known caller, first time in our
area, Susan Kevra, (Nashville, TN).
• Workshops: 10am-4:00p ($5 ea) and Jamming
(Check www.urbanacontra.org/jan_jam_workshops.html in Oct).
• Potluck 5:00p-7p (Channing-Murray): Please
bring a dish to share.
• Saturday Night Dance 7p-11p (Ballroom):

dance floor.
