COS COB SCHOOL WEEK AT A GLANCE OCTOBER 19

COS COB SCHOOL
WEEK AT A GLANCE
OCTOBER 19 - 23
FROM PRINCIPAL SCHMIDT
Dear Parents,
CALENDAR OF UPCOMING
EVENTS
I am pleased to report that we have concluded our first week of COGAT testing
along with Safe-Talk lessons, and health lessons. Next week we have makeup
COGAT testing scheduled in various classes, and students in grades two through
five will be enthralled by our visiting author, Karen Lynn Williams. Ms.
Williams is an American writer of children’s literature. She is best known for her
books about the difficulties of children in developing countries. Be sure to take a
moment to talk to them about what they learned.

Here at Cos Cob School, we know that many of you are very eager to have your
children bring their iPads home. We are, too, but we need to make sure that all
technological safeguards, including digital citizenship lessons, are in place before
the devices go home. Therefore, IPADS cannot go home until all setups are
complete. We will keep you updated on this. Thank you for your patience as we
roll out iPads for all!
The time has finally come, and in a few short hours, the halls, courtyard, gym,
stage, and school grounds will be transformed into a spooky Fall Festival. The
students (and I have to admit, the entire staff) have anxiously been awaiting the
fun! Please be assured that while it has a spooky underlying theme, there are
activities, games, and sights for students of all ages.
I hope I will see many of you this evening and know that your families will have
a great time. Thank you to Tabatha Santanna, Sarah Jane Hedbabny,
Deb Jezierski, and the many volunteers for making this what promises to be a
“night to remember”!
Have a great weekend.
