MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2/2-WAY-VALVES
STRAIGHT/ANGLE BODIED
SPRING CLOSES (DN 15 - DN 50)
These instructions also apply to DN 65-80 valves with threaded ends
and to flanged valves. Refer to respective sectional drawings.
I. Disassembling the valve
1. Disassembling the actuator
Unscrew and remove the position indicator (36). Insert the
assembling tool (part 4010408 for actuator D 50, 4010409 for actuator
D 80/D 125) into the bonnet and screw it onto the nut (14). Compress
the spring (10) by turning the assembly tool knob until the seating seal
(5) lifts off from valve seat. Unscrew the actuator from the valve body
(1). Remove the circlip (25) with right-angled circlip pliers (actuator
D 125: remove locking screw (27) first). Turn the knob anticlockwise
to release the piston spring (10), while ensuring that the assembling
tool is not unscrewed from the nut (14). The assembling tool should
be removed after the piston spring is released.
2. Disassembling the complete head section
Loosen the disc nut (6) by simultaneously holding the piston rod nut
(14). Pull out piston rod from head section. Clamp flange (15) in a swivel
vice (N.B. do not clamp the sealing surfaces 52 mm (D 50), 82 mm (D
80), 130 mm (D 125)) and unscrew head section (2) from the flange
(15). Push out the guide sleeve (34) and other packing using an
assembling pin (part 4010410).
II. Assembling the valve

Clean bonnet (8) with a suitable solvent. Insert the O-ring (17) into the
bonnet and the exterior lip seal (11) into the piston (9) and lubricate
with Unisilkon L 250 L (Klüber). Place the spring(s) (10) on the piston
(9)and cover with bonnet (8). Screw assembly tool into nut (14) and
turn knob to tighten spring (10) until the circlip (25) can be mounted
(N.B. ensure that the circlip is fully inserted into its groove!).
For D125 actuator only: insert locking screw (25) into bonnet (8) and
cover with paint.
Place head section seal (3) onto head section and screw subassembly into body (1). Remove assembly tool and screw in the
position indicator (36).
III. Tools
For inserting and removing the circlips we recommend an angled
circlip pliers such as:
50/80 mm actuator :
125 mm actuator:
Seeger ZGJ-31 pliers
Seeger ZGJ-41 pliers
These pliers can be obtained from Schubert & Salzer Control Systems
as follows:

Special tools available from Schubert & Salzer Control Systems are:
1. Assembling the complete head section
Clean head section with white spirit or other suitable solvent. Insert
the guide sleeve (34) and other packing in the order shown in the
sectional drawing. The conical seals (31) should be lubricated
individually before assembly using Barrierta L 55/3 HV grease by
Klüber). Insert interior lip seal into the flange and lubricate with grease
as above. Apply a few drops of LOCTITE 640 onto the first thread M28
x 1.5, insert slotted washer (7) into flange (15) and screw tightly onto
head section sub-assembly.
Apply several drops of LOCTITE 640 onto the piston rod thread (13)
(N.B. check drawing to ensure it is the correct end). Place piston (9)
onto piston rod (13) and secure with nut (14) hand tight.
Grease piston rod (13) sparingly using Barrierta L 55/3 HV and insert
carefully into the head section. Apply a few drops of LOCTITE 640 onto
the thread at the other end of the piston rod (13). Fix disc (4), seating
seal (5) and washer (6a) using disc nut (6) and screw tightly by
simultaneously holding nut (14).
