Taxon Name: Aeschnophlebia longistigma Sélys, 1883
Synonym(s):
• Aeschnophlebia kolthoffi
Taxonomic Notes:
The type species for the genus Aeschnophlebia Sélys is optata, which Asahina (1957) examined and
considered may be an incomplete specimen of Planaeschna milnei Sélys. If this is the case then
Aeschnophlebia would be equivalent to Planaeschna McLachlan; the latter being the junior synonym.
According to Tsuda (2000) Aeschnophlebia kolthoffi Sjöstedt, 1925, described from 'Kiangsu', China, is a
synonym of Aeschnophlebia longistigma.
