Dear Parent,
Rangi Ruru Girls’ School have arranged to trial bus transport from the south of Christchurch to
Independent Schools. The service will commence from Monday 1 August. It is a trial for the
remainder of the year but the intention is to continue past that.
The bus is a 50 seater and will go past Christ’s College and Cathedral Grammar every morning and
afternoon, so there is capacity for Cathedral Grammar pupils to join in.
The fares will be $7.50 return or $4.00 one way and the students use their Cando card just like for
any metro bus. The card can be topped up with the driver.
The bus will depart from Burnham at 6.55am and will return to Burnham at the end of the day so
that is an alternative pickup and disembark point.
Please do allow 5 to 10 minutes at either end of the times shown on the map.

If you miss the bus you can contact the Red Bus operations centre and they can radio the bus driver
to expect you at the next stop. The phone number for this is 03 964-3172 and you should leave a
name to be passed to the driver as well.
In the event of snow or other events that prevent the bus from running we will text you on the cell
number that you provide as soon as we are aware.
