Our Club
Queens Park Junior Football Club is a `Not-for-Profit' organisation that is dedicated to creating a fun and safe
environment where children of all ages can come to enjoy their sport. We have knowledgeable coaches that
will encourage children to realise their potential in the game, with an emphasis on fun and commitment to
the club community.
Location
We are based in the Sydney suburb of Queens Park. Our shed is in
Queens Park on Baronga Avenue opposite Moriah College. See
adjacent map for field numbers and locations.
Season
The Winter Outdoor football season commences on the weekend

Wet Weather Information
Please contact the Centennial Parklands Wet Weather line (02) 9339 6670 on game day to determine if the
sporting fields in Queens Park, Moore Park and Centennial Park are open.
If your game is at another venue, please call the ESFA Wet Weather line (02) 8347 8806 after 8am on game
day to determine if your ground is open.
Please do not leave your opposition standing in the rain - if the field is open then your game is on!
Volunteering
At Queens Park FC, we aim to build a strong and active local community that works together not only for the
enjoyment of football but also to ensure the health of future generations.
Passionate and hard-working volunteers operate Queens Park FC. Volunteering to support an activity your
son or daughter is taking part in is truly rewarding. Don’t be shy to put your hand up and help where
possible. We always have jobs for volunteers! Many hands make light work.
Child Protection
We support the rights of the child and will act without hesitation to ensure that a child-safe environment is
maintained at all times.
All individuals engaged with paid work for Queens Park FC will be required to obtain a ‘Working with
Children’ Check and Number.
All volunteer team managers and coaches will be required to complete a FNSW Member Protection
Declaration.
Your Responsibility as Parents
At Queens Park FC, we support and adhere to the following MiniRoos and FFA policy and guidelines:
‘Much of the focus in junior sport on competition and winning is propagated by adults. As parents and
coaches, we need to consider the kind of environment we are creating for our children and be mindful of the
messages we are sending.
Is the first question you ask: ‘Did you win?’ or is it ‘Did you have fun?’
The behaviour of players, their parents, spectators, officials is absolutely critical in ensuring that young
players enjoy an appropriate environment in their formative years of playing football.’

Parent Code of Behaviour










Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment, not yours;
Encourage children to participate, do not force them;
Focus on your child’s efforts and performance rather than whether they win or lose;
Encourage children to play according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to
hostility or violence;
Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a competition;
Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performance and skilful plays by all
participants;
Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities;
Respect officials’ decisions and teach children to do likewise;
Show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials and administrators – without them, your child
could not participate; and
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability,
cultural background or religion.
Player Code of Behaviour









Play by the rules;
Never argue with an official – if you disagree, have your captain, coach or manager approach the
official during a break or after the competition;
Control your temper – verbal abuse of officials, sledging other players or deliberately distracting or
provoking an opponent is not acceptable or permitted;
Work equally hard for yourself and your team – your team’s performance will benefit and so will
you;
Be a good sport – applaud all good plays whether they are made by your team or the opposition;
Treat all participants in your sport as you like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair advantage of
another competitor;
Cooperate with your coach, team-mates and opponents – without them, there would be no
competition;
Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please your parents and coaches; and
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability,
cultural background or religion.

Important Information
Under 10/11/12 players take part an inter-club competition. Therefore, teams play small sided games
against both each other and teams from other clubs on a weekly basis. Scores are kept for grading purposes
only.
Smaller fields, modified rules and fewer players mean an engaging and positive experience for the children
whilst developing fine motor skills and values such as team work, cooperation, fair play and respect for
others.
How is My Child Allocated to a Team?
An U10 player should be a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 10 in the playing season. An U11 player should
be a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 11. An U12 player should be a minimum of 11 and a maximum of 12.
If a player joins Queens Park that has not already combined with friends to form a team, we will do our best
to place them in a team with children from the same school or suburb of residence.
Training
The coaches for this age group are parent volunteers from within the team, therefore training times and
locations are determined by the coaches at the start of the season.
Games
Boys/Mixed Games are on Saturday at various fields in the Eastern Suburbs (there may be an occasional
game scheduled on a Sunday to accommodate opposition teams with religious requirements – we
appreciate your understanding and acceptance). U10 Games start at 11am. U11 Games start at 12pm. U12
games start at 1pm.
Girls Only Games are on Sunday at various fields in the Eastern Suburbs. U10 to U12 Games start between
10am and at 2pm. Please note that home games at Queens Park will not start until after 11am due to early
field bookings by Eastern Suburbs Touch Football.
Where to Find the Draw
The draw is formulated by the Eastern Suburbs Football Association.

Did you know Queens Park FC and our Members donated 170 team strips last season?
Queens Park kits are being proudly worn by children in communities and schools who would otherwise go
without a dedicated sports uniform – but we can do more:
We need your unwanted club shirts and shorts;
We need your old boots, trainers and shin pads;
We need replica football jerseys.
Kit Bag For Kids is a not for profit community programme that distributes sports kits and equipment to
socially disadvantaged children living in Australia.
