a result of this project and/or how a problem will be addresses and/or how a situation improved because of the grant. (500 words or less.)

Project Description
How will the project or program be implemented? Describe activities and tasks. Who is the target population and in what ways will they benefit? (500 words or less.)
The ESL teacher will work with small groups using the program materials 2 3 times a week. We will work with our newcomers
and ESL students who have not made yearly progress on TELPAS. Each kit will provide ample opportunity to practice listening,
speaking, reading, and writing as they develop oral language and make progress towards grade level mastery.
Allen ISD Goals/ TEKS
Which Allen ISD goals/TEKS does this project support? Provide only two or three examples.
*listen attentively to speakers and ask relevant questions to clarify information.
*Students understand new vocabulary and use it correctly when reading and writing.
Measurement
What specific measurements will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the project? (500 words or less)
The program has an assessment element that will be given at the beginning of each kit to identify the students oral proficiency
language levels. The goal is to increase listening and speaking ratings on TELPAS.
Teaching Methods
What teaching methods will be used to implement this project? (500 words or less.)
In a small group, the teacher will use engaging photos to encourage discussion about the photos. The teacher will record their
ideas for the group to read back, modeling writing their thinking in a complete sentence.
Timeline
What is the project timeline and the date of implementation?
We will begin the program in the fall of 2016 and continue with it throughout the year.
Curriculum/System Support
Explain how this idea or project enhances/supports Allen ISD curriculum or existing systems.
This project will enhance ELL students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing comprehension as it supports language
acquisition.
