single postseason.
GOBERT OR GO HOME
In Game 3 vs. GSW, Rudy Gobert scored a playoff career-high 21 points and added 15 rebounds, four assists and two blocks, the only
player this postseason with those numbers. He is the only player in this year’s postseason to record back-to-back 15-point, 15-rebound
games and the only player to post a 20-point, 15-rebound game in the Conference Semifinals this year. It also marked his second
consecutive double-double and fourth of the postseason.
Gobert is the only player in the Western Conference with multiple double-double streaks in the playoffs. He is the eighth player in this
year’s postseason with at least four double-doubles and the ninth Jazzman to record at least four in a single postseason.
In the Conference Semifinals, Gobert is averaging 16.7 points, 13.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. In the round, he leads
Western Conference centers in scoring and rebounds and ranks third in blocks.
JOE COOL
Johnson is the 13th player in NBA history (since 1946-47) at 35-years-or-older to average at least 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5
assists per game while shooting .448 percent from the floor in the playoffs. He is the first player to do so since Tim Duncan (2014-15)
and the second Jazzman to do so (Karl Malone, 1999-00).
Johnson has scored 1,810 career playoff points, 72nd all-time and 10th among active players. He is six rebounds shy of 500 career
playoff rebounds and four steals shy of 100 career playoff steals. He would be the 13th active player and 54th overall (since 1984)
with those numbers.
THE MATCHUP
The Jazz are 14-11 when facing elimination at home and 52 when facing elimination at home in Conference Semifinal
games. Utah and Golden State have faced off three times
in the playoffs, with the Jazz winning the most recent
matchup, 4-1, in the 2007 Western Conference Semifinals.
The other two meetings were in the First Round of the
1987 and 1989 playoffs.

ALL-STAR WEEKEND
Utah was be well-represented at All-Star Weekend with Gordon Hayward, Trey Lyles and Danté Exum. It marked the first time since
2008 that Jazzmen participated in events during all three nights of All-Star Weekend (Carlos Boozer – All-Star Game, Deron Williams –
Skills Challenge, Paul Millsap/Ronnie Brewer – Rising Stars Challenge).
Hayward helped the Western Conference to a 192-182 win with eight points, one rebound, two assists and a teamhigh four steals. In his first All-Star game, he connected on 4-of-7 shots from the field in 18 minutes.
Hayward finished as the runner-up in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, a head-to-head style event of backcourt
versus frontcourt players that tested dribbling, passing, agility and three-point-shooting skills. He defeated
Washington’s John Wall and Boston’s Isaiah Thomas before falling to New York’s Kristaps Porzingis in the finals.
Danté Exum and Trey Lyles led Team World to a 150-141 victory over Team USA. Exum tallied 11 points and four
assists while Lyles notched seven points, one rebound and two assists.

WHAT’S THE WORD?
Gordon Hayward ranked in the top-20 in the league in free throws made (362), free throw attempts (429) and win shares (10.4). Rudy
Gobert led the league in blocks (214), ranked second in offensive rating (129.1) and field goal percentage (.663) and finished third in
defensive rating (99.2). Here’s what others around the league said about the duo and their teammates:
Kevin Durant on Rudy Gobert
“He’s grown so much as a player. When he first came into the league, I didn’t think he’d be this good. I didn’t think his foot speed was where it should
be, but he definitely changed my mind on that. He tests your offense a lot. He changed their team, he’s the reason why they’re so good.”
Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr on Quin Snyder
“Watching them on tape they are innovative, they play together and they defend. They are just a smart, tough basketball team. Quin deserves a lot of
credit for that and he’ll probably get some votes for Coach of the Year, which he deserves. I’m really happy for him and happy for their franchise.”
Pistons Head Coach Stan Van Gundy on Rudy Gobert
“I think there’s a couple things with Gobert. I think obviously defensively he’s really, really good. He’s got great timing, he moves his feet well on pickand-rolls, he protects the rim, and then offensively I think you’ve gotta give him a lot of credit too. He plays exactly the way they want him to play and
exactly the way he needs to play for them to be successful.
Pistons Head Coach Stan Van Gundy on Joe Johnson
“Joe Johnson has been terrific. I think they made a great acquisition with Joe Johnson. A lot of people thought Joe was really on the decline, but he
has really bounced back. They have put him in a good role.”
MAKE ROOM FOR RUDY
Rudy Gobert set a franchise record with 31 consecutive
games of 10-plus rebounds vs. OKC (1/23) (previously 19,
Paul Millsap 2008-09 and Truck Robinson 1977-78). Over
the past 20 years, only four other players in the league had
31 consecutive games or more of 10-plus rebounds. Over
the 31-game stretch, Gobert averaged 14.3 points, 13.7
rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game.

The Utah Jazz welcomed back the 1996-97 Western Conference Champions to celebrate the 20th
anniversary of the historic season. Heading into that memorable year, the organization had made 13
straight postseason appearances, including three trips to the Western Conference Finals. But on a late

history following what Jazz fans everywhere will forever remember as “The Shot.”
GOBERT, BOLOMBOY RECEIVE STATE OF SPORT AWARDS, JERRY SLOAN HONORED WITH LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Utah Jazz players Rudy Gobert and Joel Bolomboy received 2017 Governor’s State of Sport Awards tonight while Hall of Fame coach Jerry Sloan was
honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the Utah Sports Commission event presented by Zions Bank at Vivint Smart Home Arena. Gobert

was the NBA leader in blocked shots with multiple streaks of 24-or-more games with a block and set a franchise record with 31 consecutive games of
10-plus rebounds. Gobert competed for France at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. Bolomboy captured the Collegiate Male Athlete of the Year
award while playing for Weber State University where he was named the Big Sky Conference Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year.
Bolomboy helped lead the Wildcats to the Big Sky regular season and tournament championships, and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. He was
selected by the Utah Jazz in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft.

QUIN SNYDER
Getting Ac-QUIN-ted
Quin Snyder became the eighth head coach in Utah Jazz history, and only the fifth since the franchise moved to
Utah in 1979, on June 6, 2014. Snyder collected his 100th win as Jazz head coach on January 2, 2017 at
Brooklyn. With over 20 years of coaching experience, and 10 years of head coaching experience, Snyder has
sat beside some of the game’s most respected names and has coached in all walks of basketball life, including
the NCAA, the NBA Developmental League, the EuroLeague and the NBA. Snyder most recently comes to Utah
from the Atlanta Hawks, where he was an assistant to Head Coach Mike Budenholzer.
From 2007-10, Snyder was the head coach of the Developmental League’s Austin Toros (the D-League affiliate
of the San Antonio Spurs). With the Toros, Snyder garnered a 94-56 (.627) record, seeing the playoffs each year
and advancing to at least the D-League Semifinals every season.
In Snyder’s inaugural season, he inherited a team that had gone 21-29 the year before and flipped the script
guiding the Toros to a 30-20 record, a Southwest Division Title and an appearance in the 2008 D-League
Championship game. In 2009, Snyder was named the Dennis Johnson Coach of the Year. During his three
seasons in Austin, Snyder sent more players to the NBA and won more games than any other D-League coach.
Snyder got his first NBA coaching gig as an assistant with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1992-93, from there
Snyder served as an assistant/associate head coach at his alma mater Duke University from 1993-99. He
landed his first head coaching job with the NCAA’s Missouri Tigers and held that position for seven seasons
(1999-06). After his success with the Toros, Snyder went on as a player development coach with Philadelphia
(2010-11) and an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Lakers (2011-12), CSKA Moscow (2012-13) and
Atlanta Hawks (2013-14) serving under some of the most respected coaches in basketball.
