OVERVIEW
Pesto is a sauce that can be used in pasta, sandwiches, or as a veggie dip. You can always change
the ingredients to fit your taste. Try adding nuts like walnuts, pine nuts, or cashews. Instead of basil
try arugula, parsley, or kale.

1 box pasta
1-2 cloves of garlic
2 cups fresh basil
leaves
1 cup spinach
¼ cup grated
parmesan
5 teaspoons lemon
juice
¼ cup olive oil
¼ teaspoon salt
Pinch of black pepper
DIRECTIONS
1.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook the pasta according to the instructions
on the box
2.
While the pasta is cooking, make the sauce.
In a food processor or blender add the garlic,
basil, spinach, parmesan, lemon juice, and
olive oil.

Process until smooth. Scrape sides of bowl as
needed. Add salt to taste.
4.
Drain the pasta and put in a large bowl

Add the pesto sauce and stir until combined.
