Overview
Tulleys Farm Shocktober Fest Scream Park is one of the UK’s biggest Halloween festivals.
Winners of multiple industry and public voted awards. Shocktober Fest has since 2008
repeatedly won the title of the UK's No 1 Halloween Attraction!
This year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever and Scream Park Entertainments are at
the helm. We need over 120 actors to perform in the mazes and attractions and as always,
we’re looking for the best of the best.
Performing styles
The Haunted House, Horrorwood Haunted Hayride,
The Cellar, Nightshade Circus, Field of Screams, Hell-ements the Ritual
and NEW for 2015 The Chop Shop & The Volt
There are eight attractions and a Street Theatre team at Shocktober Fest, all with different
styles of performance. The Cellar for instance requires very physical performers who can
respond and adapt quickly to the ever changing environment within a high impact maze,
whereas the Haunted Hayride needs actors with great improvisation skills and can interact
and engage with the up-close audience.
All attractions run in the evenings, though Horrorwood Haunted Hayride and The Haunted
House both have afternoon sessions starting at 11.30pm. So some actors will be required
earlier than others. Don’t forget to let us know if you aren’t available during the day.
It’s hard work, and on some of the attractions it’s also cold and wet. You may be working in
the outdoors, but shelter is always nearby.

the UK’s most experienced and well known Scare Practitioners

The Audition
The auditions for new team members will be held on Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th, Saturday
12th, and Sunday 13th September 2015 at Tulleys Farm, Turners Hill Road, Crawley, RH10 4PE
at 10am, 12.30pm, and 3pm. Each session will last approximately 2 hours.
What do I need to bring with me?

Please print off the last 2 pages of this booklet, fill in the details and bring it with
you along with a passport sized photograph.

Make sure you are wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that will not restrict
movement.

A bottle of water.
What happens at the audition?
The audition is in workshop style. There will be games, exercises and activities that will help
us to identify whether you are suitable for our team and also which sort of Scare
Performance style suits you best. The workshop is energetic, hard work, but most of all,
fun!
Special Requirements
The designs of the attraction spaces mean that we only have limited scope for people with
certain mobility restrictions. However, still contact us and let us know the requirements you
may have for auditions or if you were to be offered a position, and we will try our hardest to
realise a solution so that you can perform if you pass the audition stage.
What if I can’t make the audition date?
Please let us know as soon as possible so that we can see if arranging another date is viable.
We can’t guarantee that we will be able to do this, but we will try our best.

Scream Training
If you are successful in your audition, you will be invited to attend
one of the ‘Scream Training’ days. This is the second and final round
of the audition process.
Scream Training will take place on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th
September, 10am – 5pm
IMPORTANT: SCREAM TRAINING IS MANDATORY
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND AT LEAST ONE OF THE SPECIFIED
DAYS. IF YOU CAN NOT, DO NOT APPLY.
There are NO circumstances that would allow a performer to be cast
without attending Scream Training. This is still an audition - please
do not be complacent, the training must be taken seriously and is a
requirement for our insurance and health and safety.

IMPORTANT: Please put in the ‘subject’ of your email the words ‘NEW Performer’
followed by your full name.
Complete the Application Form
Print off the last 2 pages of this document and fill in the required details for us to put into
our system, you must also attach a recent passport sized photograph.
This form MUST be completed and brought with you to your audition.
Under 18 years old?
We do not employ performers under the age of 16. If you are under 18, then a parent or
guardian must sign the back of the application form and include a hand-written letter of
permission including their full name, their address, your full name and your address (if
different)
They must also include the following statement:
“I hereby give full permission for [your name] to take part in the Tulleys Shocktober Fest
Event as a performer for Scream Park Entertainments Ltd & Tulleys Farm”
IMPORTANT: Unfortunately, due to changes in the law, we are unable to employ anyone
who is currently studying for their GCSE examinations.
