The Los Angeles Unified School District seeks an outstanding Principal, Elementary to collaborate with the Principal to lead
students, staff, and the community at Bonita Elementary School towards academic success.
Bonita Street Elementary School is a traditional calendar school serving 530 students in grades ETK-5th grade including a
Resource Specialist program and four special day classes. Bonita's student body is comprised of 44% Latino, 13% African
American, 9% Asian, and 15% Filipino with at least 62% of the students falling within the designation of low socio economic
status and 14% of the students are classified as English Learners. The school is located at 21929 Bonita Street,
Carson, CA 90745.
The Ideal Candidate will have knowledge of Common Core State Standards, LAUSD Leadership Framework, LAUSD
Teaching and Learning Framework, English Learner Master Plan, Special Education programs, and District instructional goals;
the ability to supervise and evaluate the instructional program and facilitate professional development for personnel;
experience working collaboratively with all stakeholders and demonstrate professionalism and respectfulness in all
interactions; strong and effective planning and organizational skills; the ability to work independently; excellent time
management skills and the ability to multi-task while meeting commitments and deadlines; the ability to interpret data to
inform decisions and develop action plans that will result in continuous and stainable student achievement; a variety of
experiences in managing school operations; experience with school budgets; and the ability to support the implementation of
a positive school-wide behavior support plan.
Salary:

MST 41G - E Basis – ($92,391 - $115,249) - 234 paid days
For an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized “settlement” (i.e., the process by which the
District resolves an under or overpayment)
Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to budget limitations
For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.


Required Experience must be in a public school setting:
 Eight years of successful full-time public school district certificated service
 A minimum of three years of experience as a teacher in a K-12 program
 A minimum of two years of experience in an elementary instructional program grades Pre K through 6
And



one of the following:
A minimum of one year of service in an administrative or supervisory position utilizing an administrative credential
A minimum of one year of experience in a school based assistant principal level position
Three years verifiable full-time experience in a school based leadership non-classroom assignment, such as
coordinator, instructional coach, or dean

A valid California teaching credential requiring a Bachelor's degree and a program of professional preparation, including
student teaching
