Materials:
-Crochet hook size J
-Super bulky weight yarn (pictured yarn
is “Baby Clouds” yarn by Red Heart )
-Large-eye needle
Abbreviations:
sl st= slip stitch
ch= chain
sc= single crochet
dc= double crochet
hdc= half double

nb (up to 12in)
0-3m (up to 14in)
3-6m (up to 16in)
6-12m (up to 18in)
1-4y (up to 19in)
Note: If you are not familiar with the“adjustable ring” technique, then do the following for Round 1:
Ch2, 10sc into 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st in first sc.
Hat size newborn
Note: Join each round with a sl st in first stitch, not the chain. **Crochet in back loops only**
Make an adjustable ring.
Rnd 1: 10 sc into center of ring. Tighten ring by pulling on end of yarn. Join with sl st in first sc. (10 sts)
Rnd 2: Ch2, 2dc in each st around, join with sl st. (20 sts)
Rnd 3: Ch2, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st, rep from * around, join with sl st. (30 sts)
Rnds 4-6: Ch2, dc in each st around, join with sl st.
Rnd 7: Ch1, work in both loops for this row only, hdc in each st around, join with sl st.
Cut yarn, secure and weave an end.
Ears (make 2)
Make an adjustable ring.
Rnd 1: 5 sc into center of ring, tighten ring by pulling on end of yarn, join with sl st. (5 sts)
Rnd 2: Ch1, turn, *2sc, sc in next st* rep 2 times, 2 sc in last st (8 sts)
Rnd 3: Ch1, turn, sl st in each st (8 sts)
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew ears to the hat.

Make an adjustable ring.
Rnd 1: 10 sc into center of ring, tighten ring by pulling on end of yarn, join with sl st in first sc. (10 sts)
Rnd 2: Ch2, 2dc in each st around, join with sl st. (20 sts)
Rnd 3: Ch2, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st, rep from * around, join with sl st. (30 sts)
Rnd 4: Ch2, dc in first st,*2dc in next st, dc in each of next 6 sts* rep 4 times, dc in last st, join with sl st. (34 sts)
Rnds 5-6: Ch2, dc in each st around, join with sl st.
Rnds 7-8: Ch1, work in both loops for this row only, sc in each st around, join with sl st.
Cut yarn, secure and weave an end.
