Dear Parents,
Another busy week with the
majority of Year 3 on camp at
Porthpean, Year 6 putting on
three fantastic performances
of their play School Daze, and
a number of children
representing Carclaze at the St
Austell Learning Community
Awards.
As I’m sure you will have seen
on the news the first SATS
results under the new higher
standard assessments were
also announced. We are very
proud of how hard the
children have worked and
that the schools results are in
line with the national
average. Well done to all
involved.
Kind Regards
Simon Pollard

Message from Molly:
On the 5 August 2016 - 12 local men,
including my dad, have taken on the
challenge of rowing around the rocky
coast of Cornwall in under nine days.
They are doing this to raise an awareness of Pancreatic Cancer which is
known as the silent cancer because it
has no known symptoms so this leads
to a 3% survival rate.
On Monday 11 July my sister, our
friends and I will be hosting a Cake
Sale school to help raise money for
this worthy charity. Cancer is something that has affected many of our
family and friends so we will do anything to help them. If you would like
to find out more about this charity
then please search:

Messages for Children
Dear Parents/Carers - we are receiving lots of calls to the
office asking us to pass messages onto children. A lot of
these calls are coming late in the day and we are not
always able to disturb the class in order to pass on the
messages. We are very anxious that a child won’t receive
a message one day and we would like to urge parents to
discuss arrangements with their children before the
school day starts. Many Thanks
ParentPay - Important Information
School Dinners - We have had a high volume
of children that have not been put down for
any meals this week and have not brought in
a packed lunch. May we remind parents that
meals must be ordered and paid for before
midnight on the Sunday. Even if your child is
FSM or UIFSM they are still required to preorder. Failure to pre-order will result in the
office calling you and requesting that you
bring in a packed lunch for that week.
Busy Bees - You must book your child into
Busy Bees by 12.00 mid day on the day you
require childcare. We will no longer be
accepting late bookings due to staff to child
ratios.

Well done to Year 5 for their fantastic information station at
Par Beach. It has been well received. Foundation have also
shared their learning by hosting a picnic in the forest school
area. Year 2 also invited guests to their exhibition this week.
Next week Year 1 will be holding a Grand Garden Sale all
week. Year 4 will be holding Survival Days for Sandy Hill and
Bishop Bronescombe pupils. Year 3 will be marching, as
Romans, to Bishop Bronescombe. Wow!
