Dear Parent and Carers,
Another fabulous and exciting week! Only two weeks to go and so
much to squeeze in! Please read this week’s Newsletter
thoroughly so you don’t miss out on Christmas Events. Have a
lovely weekend, Mrs Williams
GMPTFA NEWS
The GMPTFA have been busy planning our Winter Fayre that is
taking place on Tuesday 15th December 3.15-5.30pm.
As well as a local author (Inderjit Puaar - Bradley the Bus) we are
also expecting a visit from Father Christmas and his elves! The
school choir will be providing some Christmas Cheer; there will be
refreshments, art activities, face painting, lucky dip and games. The
Secondary Phase have been working on a 'Dragons Den' enterprise
and will be selling Candles, Mugs, Christmas Cake and Baubles.
There will also be bric-a-brac and 'Books for Free'.
We will be having a meeting after school on Tuesday 8th December
for those of you that can't make the Thursday Coffee Mornings.
Please come along and sign up to help run a stall or provide
refreshments. If you can't come along to any of our meetings, but
could lend a hand, the sign-up sheet is at the School Office at the
Primary Phase. We look forward to seeing you all at the Fayre to
share in the festive cheer and enjoy a glass of mulled wine and
mince pie.

On Thursday, the whole school met Tanya Compas
from Team London. She was a true inspiration to
children and the adults who listened to her. She taught
us about self-belief, never to give up and that working
together we can achieve so much in our community.
Tanya then did a workshop with Year 6 who are now
planning a project to support vulnerable people in our
community. WATCH THIS SPACE FOR FUTURE PROJECTS.

What is climate change?
In December, world leaders will gather in Paris, France, to
try to hammer out a deal to tackle global warming. The
planet's climate has constantly been changing over time.
However, the world is heating up more quickly than in the
past. Many scientists believe that human activity is having a
bad effect on global temperatures.
The full impact of climate change on the world is still
uncertain. Scientists say that if the planet's temperature
eventually goes up by more than two degrees Celsius, sea
levels will rise so much that low lying coastal areas and
islands could end up under water. Extreme weather like
heatwaves, droughts and storms could happen more often
and become more severe, and a third of all animal species
could be wiped out. What do you know about climate
change?
