MAKE A GIFT FOR YOUR TEACHER
Each student writes 3 specific things they like about
their teacher. Put them all in a jar for her/him to read.
Gatewood follows to the District Wellness Policy (Code 533). It states, “schools
should limit celebrations involving food during the school day.”
The Student Wellness Council encourages Teachers and Parent Volunteers to
serve healthy snacks, rather than sugary treats, during classroom parties.
Schools have a responsibility to help students establish and maintain lifelong,
healthy eating habits. Schools can help promote a positive learning
environment by providing healthy celebrations that shift the focus from the
food to the child.
