Staff Updates:
We would like to wish Mrs. Stella, our Acting
Principal, a warm farewell, and extend a huge thank
you for all her positive support that she has
contributed to our staff & students.
Also leaving RW is Mrs. Bajwa, who replaced Ms.
Houston in our Grade 1 Class. Her contribution to
the Grade 1 Team will be greatly missed.
We wish them both much success in their next
adventures.

Mrs. S. Salman as our new Principal.
Mr. S. Wickett as our new Vice-Principal as of
January 9th, 2017.
Mr. Wickett has been a VP at Morning Star Middle
School for the last 3 1/2 years.
Also to the Phys Ed Team please welcome Ms. Title
who is filling in for Ms. Ingram.
Wow…it is already December, and the Red Willow
staff and students have enjoyed the start of our
school year. Please join us in welcoming the new
Principal of Red Willow, Mrs. Saira Salman who
has been in education for 20 years.
She has been a teacher, special education teacher,
Ministry Student Work Study Teacher, Numeracy
and Literacy Instructional Coach. Mrs. Salman has
a strong background in Instructional Leadership
and is looking forward to connecting with the Red
Willow community to ensure that all learners are
successful. She values the role that parents play
as partners in education and welcomes your input
as key agents for positive change! Stop by the
office on Monday, January. 9th to meet her as she
begins her new journey as Principal of Red Willow
Public School.
Also, join us in welcoming our new Vice Principal
Stephen Wickett who has a strong background in
Special Education and is a champion for modern
learners. He is looking forward to teaming with all
our Community at Red Willow.
Our Kindergarten Winter Concert was a great
sucess and we want to extend our appreciation to
all of our staff for their dedication to our students in
providing many opportunities for learning and
Performing. They certainly outdid themselves, this
year’s concert was a performance to remember.

Food Drive
We would like to extend a big thank you to our
staff, students and their families for
helping to make our annual food drive a
tremendous success. We were able to fill many
boxes to share with families this past holiday season
and we know that these gifts were greatly
appreciated.

Peel District School Board buses are cancelled.
This means that schools remain open for students and staff, but
buses are cancelled. Bus cancellations could occur in all or parts
of municipalities. Buses will remain cancelled all day. All activities
that require busing will also be cancelled. Permits, night school
classes, child care and other activities in schools will operate as
usual.

closed.

A Christmas Wish…...
Recently, The Huffington Post wrote about 9
year old Hailey who has been diagnosed with
Leukemia. Hailey had told them that she had
a goal to collect over 1000 Christmas Cards.
In the spirit of giving, Red Willow students and
staff sent letters and Christmas cards to help Hailey
reach her goal. We are very proud of our students and
staff for demonstrating the character value of
