CIT Teachers attended AWLA Conference at Auburn University
On Feb.3 and 4, 2017, staff of Confucius Institute at Troy University attended the conference hosted by
Alabama Chinese Language Teachers Association in Auburn University Dixon Conference Center. Dr. Rui
Feng, Chairman of Chinese Teacher Association was also invited to the annual conference.
Led by Dean Xu, Mr. Zhi Zha (Deputy Dean of CIT), Ms. Wei Yu, Lin Cao, Jing Zhang and Yinxiao Zhang
went to sub-venues respectively and listened to the keynote speech for a general idea of AL language teaching
situation and experience. Meanwhile, CIT booth was set in the Conference Center Exhibition Hall for showing
up the characteristic achievements of CIT language teaching and culture activities, such as teaching wall charts,
Chinese books, special purchases for Spring Festival and videos of Taichi, etc. The visitors were deeply
impressed by the displays. Dr. Xu, the CIT Dean and Ms. Anthe Zhang, Chinese language teacher from Indian
Spring School co-chaired the ACLTA Chinese Teaching workshop. This is really a precious opportunity
provided to the CIT staff for improving their teaching methodology and classroom management skills.
