North Improvements
Project Description:
As part of the Town’s continued plans to invest in significant improvements
along the Hadley-Moon-Saratoga corridor, roadway construction
along Moon Road will be occurring this fall. This project consists of
reconstruction of 3,200 feet of Moon Road from the existing two-lane
section to a three-lane pavement section, adding a center turn lane.
Figure 1 illustrates the construction limits of the project. The pavement
section will be bordered by curb and gutter with the existing pedestrian
path being maintained on the west side. New stormwater installations
will also be part of the project to control runoff waters.

Traffic Impacts and Closures:
Utility relocations are currently underway and roadway construction is
expected to begin immediately following the relocation work. As part
of the roadway construction sequence, Moon Road will be restricted to
One-Way Southbound from just south of Main St. (US-40) to just north
of the main (south) entrance to the Sugar Grove subdivision. This setup
will remain in place throughout the substantial completion of the roadway
work which is expected by the end of the year. Access to all properties
within the construction limits will be maintained at all times from the oneway southbound travel lane.
Proposed Detours:
The proposed detour route for access to properties within the construction
limits is to use Moon Road from Main St. (US-40). A detour map is
included on the backside of this flyer to illustrate the preferred alternative
routes for local traffic needing to get to Main St. but also for traffic coming
from I-70. Note that access to Sugar Grove’s main (south) entrance
and to the neighborhoods along Hadley Road will be unaffected by this
project.
