Post All-Ireland Function As in 2009 the traditional Kerry Team Post All Ireland Function will take place in the D4 Hotels in Ballsbridge (The old Jury's Hotel). The cost of the post match function tickets are €20.00. The tickets for this function will be for sale on a first come first served basis from The County Secretary at the County Committee Offices in the week leading up to The All Ireland Final. Annual Mount Brandon Charity Event This year’s walk will be held on the 24th September 2011 and is dedicated to the memory of Ronnie and Deirdre Drew. Funds raised from this years walk will go toward Solas Na Coinnile Project, CHY No:19802 which will be based in the Kerry region and will benefit the Country and also the Irish communities abroad. Formally known as {Siulóid Leighis/Walk for the Cure} The launch will take place at 8.00pm in O’ Donoghue’s Bar & Guesthouse 15 Merrion Row, Dublin 2. The annual walk is organised by Jeaicí Ó Muircheartaig Founder & Director, who is also the driving force behind this fundraising campaign. Each year the walk is dedicated to the memory of someone who has passed away through the effects of Cancer. This year’s walk will be held on the 24th September 2011 and is dedicated to the memory of Ronnie and Deirdre Drew, and members of the Drew family will attend the launch on the night. The event is envisaged as a fun and leisurely cycle along the newly constructed “Green Route” a dedicated cycle path along the banks of the Grand Canal. The route of this cycle follows the canal as it meanders its way from the heart of our capital city to the beautiful lush green fields of county Dublin. The cycle starts at the Grand Canal Dock outside the new Grand Canal Theatre and follows the new dedicated cycle lane along the canal. It joins the road for a short period at Parnell Road and then drops onto the new Green Route at Inchicore and heads on away from all traffic to the 12th Lock at Lucan. It actually passes under the M50 and out into the country. When: Sunday September 25th Time: 10am From: Grand Canal Dock To: The 12th Lock Lucan Projected Income: Our target is to issue 500 sponsorship cards and ask each person to raise €100 per card. If the demand is greater we can issue additional cards. This would yield an income of €50,000. for Console. What will this money be used for? This money will be ring fenced and go towards setting up a psychotherapy service to help at risk adolescents and children. Stewarding: The entire cycle will be overseen by officers from the pedal cycle division of An Garda Siochana. There will also be volunteer stewards along the entire route operating under guidance from the Gardai. Licence: A licence application has been forwarded to Waterways Ireland who control all events on the canal. Insurance: O Driscoll and O Neill Insurances have been retained to arrange the public liability insurance required to cover the entire event.
