Five Enormous Dinosaurs
The Dinosaurs
Five enormous dinosaurs letting out a roar-One went away, and then there were four.
Four enormous dinosaurs crashing down a tree-One went away, and then there were three.
Three enormous dinosaurs eating tiger stew-One went away, and then there were two.
Two enormous dinosaurs trying to run-One ran away, and then there was one.
One enormous dinosaur, afraid to be alone-He went away, and then there was none.
Spread your arms, way out wide,
Fly like a pterodactyl, soar and glide.
Bend to the floor, head down low,
Move like a stegosaurus, long ago.
Reach up tall, try to be
As tall as apatosaurus eating from a tree.
Using your claws, grumble and growl
Just like tyrannosaurus on the prowl.
I'm a Mean Old Dinosaur
You put your claws in,
You put your claws out,
You put your claws in,
And you scratch them all about.
You do the Dino Pokey
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.
(Tune: “I'm a little Tea Pot”)
I'm a mean old dinosaur (make a mean face)
Big and tall (gesture hands big and tall)
Here is my tail (hands behind your back for tail)
And here is my claw. (make claw hands)
When I get all hungry (rub your tummy)
I just growl (exaggerate the grrroooowwwlll)
Look out kids I'm on the prowl. (tickle your child)
I’m a Giant Dinosaur
(Tune: “I’m a Little Teapot”)
I'm a giant dinosaur, big and strong.
(gesture big; show your muscles)
I’ve got four feet and my tail is long.
(hold up four fingers/gesture “long”)
People run away when I walk along,
(stomp like a dinosaur)
‘Cause a great big “ROAR!” is my favourite song.
(let out a ROOOOAAARRRR)
Dinosaur, Dinosaur
Dinosaur, dinosaur, where can it be?
Hiding behind me (hands behind back)
Where you cannot see!
Now you see one (bring one hand out)
It's been waiting for you.
Here comes another, (bring out other hand)
And now you see two!

The
little dinosaurs sitting in a swamp.
first one said, “Let’s stomp, stomp, stomp.”
second one said, “Time for lunch!”
third one said, “Let’s munch, munch, munch.”
fourth one said, “Let’s stomp some more.”
fifth one said, “Let’s all roar!” GRRRR!
Five Huge Dinosaurs
Five huge dinosaurs, looking fierce and mean,
The first one said “I eat things that are green.”
The second one said, “I hatched from an egg.”
The third one said “I have big, strong legs.”
The fourth one said “I can fly through the air.”
The fifth one said “I give everyone a scare!”
THUMP, THUMP came Tyrannosaurus Rex that day,
And the five huge dinosaurs all ran away!
Craft Ideas
Dinosaur Fossils
• Salt dough (see recipe below)
• Small plastic dinosaur toy
• Circle or square cookie cutter
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Roll your dough out, making sure your dough is more that half the thickness of your dinosaur.
Use a cookie cutter (a glass works well too) to cut out a circle.
Press your dinosaur into the dough and remove, you'll see your dinosaur shape in the dough.
Dry your Dinosaur Fossils according to the directions below.
Paint your fossils with regular acrylic paint. Seal the paint with varnish or polyurethane spray.
Salt Dough
1 cup salt
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup luke warm water
1. In a large bowl mix salt and flour.
2. Gradually stir in water. Mix well until it forms a doughy consistency.
3. With your hands form a ball with your dough and kneed it for at least 5 minutes. The longer you kneed
your dough the smoother it will be.
4. To color your dough add food coloring to water.
Bake at 200 F until your creation is dry. The amount of time needed to bake your creations depends on size
and thickness; thin flat ornaments may only take 45-60 minutes, thicker creations can take 2-3 hours or
more. You can also air dry.
